Very good colors an resolution. Monitor however doesn't start when activating computer. Must configure source each time my computer go from sleep to active. Same for all my computers. Why?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The historic strategy game I like to play most (19500 hours) in 4k runs at an average of 245-250 fps fed by my 6800xt AMD GPU. The game detail and action looks great. I also use my monitor frequently for watching live sporting games in a left window next to my right window running other programs. Sitting at my desk at normal viewing distance the 32" just fills the frames of my eyesight and glasses. Its great for working on two spreadsheets or a window viewing and researching topics on the internet. I did recently buy an adjustable desk arm to hold the monitor and allow me to move around the monitor to allow different viewing angles and free up the desk space under monitor formerly taken up by the stand.

Excellent monitor for 4K. I've seen many people complaining about the monitor not reaching 4K-60Hz but that's not true, you need to use a DP 1.2 or above to reach 60Hz, i've used DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 and for both options the monitor works perfect. Also verify that your graphics settings or OS screen settings allow you to use higher resolutions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this monitor to replace a smaller one (not a Samsung) on which the backlight had failed. The new one sits to the right of another 32" 4K monitor that was much more expensive and I see no difference in the picture quality. I use it primarily for working on spreadsheets, coding and web browsing so can't vouch for it as a gaming monitor but I would recommend it to a friend looking for something similar.

Problem: I experienced severe graphics lag while using my PC. Since this was my first time optimizing a system, I assumed the issue was mouse input lag and spent a lot of time troubleshooting in that direction. Eventually, I discovered the real problem: my monitor was running at a 30 Hz refresh rate without Freesync. This realization came after much frustration. I was even ready to replace the monitor, extremely frustrated. Solution: I found out from the Samsung U32J59X manual that HDMI input port 1 does not support Freesync and is limited to 30 Hz. After switching to HDMI input 2, I now have 60 Hz and Freesync! The DisplayPort also supports Freesync at 60 Hz, which I have tested. For SAMSUNG: No one is going o dig through manual put that information in box. with big letter "USE HDMI 2"

Only reason I say it in the review is because no matter the port, plug, cord, etc on the Mac air.. The monitor will always be lower refresh rate than the other monitors. So might be issue with monitor but using it normally. It's perfect!

It was a bit difficult to set up as a secondary monitor in my home office because of the size, but once I figured that out it works great. Sent for repair to Samsung. Come back fixed. For a while. Started to act again. Warranty expired. Still using it with a dark spot on the left bottom screen. Still usable, but quality seems to be a problem.

It is excellent for those purposes and high enough quality and resolution for the occasional time out for games. Not the highest resolution but good enough that the picture is clear and colors are excellent. My one wish is that I have noticed it did not have speaker capabilities. But then I have ear buds that more than make up for this minor oversight on my part. I highly recommend this unit - it is large enough to have multiple web pages, spreadsheets open and accessible.

Cannot run at 60Hz at 4K without momentary blackouts. From the postings on forums it appears this is a common problem. I doesn't work on a fast EVGA card or the built-in Intel graphics. When it blanks out, it interrupts my Samsung 49" monitor. I like the looks of the screen, but this problem, which won't go away and Samsung can't seem to fix, makes it unusable. I love Samsung, and this is very disappointing.

The monitor works well and has great graphics for the price. I unfortunately was in a hurry to get a replacement for my old monitor that bit the dust rather quickly and did not catch that this monitor does not have speakers and lacks HDMI connections. I have done some work arounds and all is good but do wish I had researched further.

The 32" is the perfect size for my large desk. Using this monitor actually freed up space when I was able to remove the 3 separate monitors I had been using. Seriously, this monitor is all that and a bit more! Definitely will not disappoint!

I bought this monitor way back in 11/2/2020 at the height of the COVID pandemic. The price hasn't even changed. I just recently upgraded my computer to better play Microsoft Flight Simulator. The Samsung UJ59 monitor renders the scenery in the game beautifully. The maximum refresh rate of the monitor is 60 frames per second, which is more than adequate for MFS. People who seriously play first person shooter games may want more frames per second. My monitor is 3.5 years old and is just like new. I am very pleased.

I don't know what the haters have been smoking, but obviously they haven't educated themselves... I've been using the DisplayPort 1.2 setting in the monitor menu and using a DisplayPort 1.2+ capable cable since 2018 with no issues running the monitor at 4k at 60hz since 2018. I think the haters haven't even opened their settings menus to confirm if they're using the highest version of DisplayPort on their monitor lol. It takes 15 seconds to navigate to the menu, if it's not working then switch your DP cable because you're probably rocking a 1.1 or less version that's been sitting in your closet for too long. This is one of the best value 4k monitors besides using a small 4k value tv. It has impressive color range and accuracy with 10 bit color vs the usual 8 bit you'll see even modern tvs still using, and if you haven't made the switch to 4k or even 1440p yet and wonder if the difference is worth it, trust me I have a fine pair of glasses on and the difference in clarity is night and day resolution wise for reading text like this and detail for movie viewing is quite nice and the viewing angles are amazing for value LED, the next step up from here is getting a higher refresh rate 4k oled for me eventually.

Youngster in his 20s here, had this monitor now for about 6 years, hasn't crapped out on me yet, if you're still skeptical of 4K and don't wanna get a giant tv of it but instead wanna try out 4k with this I'd say it's a good bet like I originally thought, I didn't know if I'd be able to tell the difference when I was younger and then I tried it and now I never wanna go back, especially with the 10 bit color compared to your usual tv or 8 bit monitor that has washed out colors like a faded painting it's a double combo for me compared to the last tvs and monitors I had used, the clarity of 4k is something you have to see to really enjoy, if you're older it makes reading much easier, I'm typing this review and looking at the detailed screen of text right now, if you're in a bright office it may appear a little dim, but in regular gaming or home office use the brightness is great, the color accuracy is solid, and those complaining about not getting 4k/60 with hdmi are silly, hdmi is reliable for 1080p and below, that's the past, we are now in the future, one displayport cable of the latest type these days equals two hdmi cables, also this has Gsync support if you own a Nvidia GPU which prevents disorienting screen tearing at and BELOW 60 FPS for those dastardly games that refuse to play nice with your hard earned hardware and it works ONLY if you use the "Ultimate" engine in the monitor settings, and you have to do some tinkering in your nvidia control panel, another thing, the led display has a natural matte look to it, and it's a thick material, so no need to worry about bright lens flares and feel free to have at it with a cleaning wipe with no worries of ruining the screen with having a table lamp nearby, in fact my table lamp is literally 7 inches away from my monitor and I barely see the reflection. Anyways, it's good, just order it on amazon like I did to get it in two days so you don't end up like Angrydad who didn't do his homework in the review section lol. Ordering your tech from the manufacturer is of days past now.

The color and screen display are excellent. Better than I needed, but lovely just the same. The 'jog' button on the back, the only input for the device, is unintuitive, and I think, buggy. Docs say that the functionality varies from one 'model' to another, so YMMV. Sometimes, the menu display just does not show, no matter what you do. Sometimes, when it doesn't show, it still does stuff, but different from what the docs say. Sometimes it's different even when it does show, but not often. I stumbled into undocumented menu displays a few times. The docs pretend it can only be used with Windoze, but I used it mostly with mac laptops. There was some sort of mis-resonance that kicked in when I woke the Mac from sleep - the Samsung would switch between displaying and not displaying, about a half dozen times, before I could use it, 10 or 20 seconds. It's like the Mac sent a signal to the monitor to wake up, then it would wait for the wrong amount of time, and give up and send a signal to turn it off, right as the monitor would come on. Over and over. I called the monitor 'Blinky'. It just burned out, after 3 years of otherwise reliable use. I think that's a little short, but I can't say I took care of it well.

Several years in use right now. Picture quality is still adequate for this screen. Had some issues with HDMI channel switch to XBox which ended in a fullblown colored noise picture. Only restarting the screen helped in this case. The reason for this is still unknown. Also the screen menue seems to be bit old fashioned right now. But overall still happy with what I bought.
