How do I uninstall and turn off apps on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active?

To make the most of your device's storage capacity, you can uninstall or turn off apps you don't use. Downloaded apps can be uninstalled, and preloaded apps can be turned off.

Preloaded apps (apps built into your device) cannot be uninstalled. You can only turn off or disable them.

Turn Off Preloaded Apps

From the Apps menu, you can turn off preloaded apps. Once turned off, the app will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned on.

If updates are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates via Google Play™ Store once you turn on the app.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch More options > Uninstall/disable apps.

  3. Touch Remove next to the app you want to turn off.

  4. A message may warn you about turning off the app. Touch DISABLE to proceed.

  5. Before the app can be turned off, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version. If any updates were installed, touch UNINSTALL to finish turning off the app.
