How do I use Share Shot when taking photos on my Samsung Galaxy S4?

Share shot is a photo shooting mode that lets you instantly share photos you capture on your device with devices that support Wi-Fi Direct®. As you take photos, they are automatically shared to the Wi-Fi Direct devices you have selected.

Setting Up Share Shot

Open the Camera application, and touch Settings> Share OFF > Share shot.

Using NFC

You must first be sure that NFC sharing is turned on in both devices.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Menu > Settings > Connections > NFC.

  2. Touch the slider to turn NFC on.

After NFC is turned on, you can connect to it via Share shot.

  1. Touch Easily connect via NFC to begin the connection.

  2. Bring the two devices back to back.

  3. Touch anywhere the screen, and when prompted, separate the devices to finalize the connection.

Using Wi-Fi Direct

  1. Touch Wi-Fi Direct settings on the Share shot screen to open the Wi-Fi Direct connection menu.

  2. You can connect to one device at a time by selecting a device from the list to connect to, or touch Multi connect to select multiple devices. When using Multi connect, touch Done to finalize the connection.

  3. The selected devices will receive an Invitation to connect message, and their users must touch Connect.

  4. When you are connected to devices via Wi-Fi Direct, your camera viewfinder will show at the top of the screen.

    Any photos you take after this setup process will be shared instantly with the connected devices, as long as the devices remain in range and Wi-Fi Direct is left on. When the receiving devices have successfully downloaded the photos, there will be a notification that photos have been received. The photos can be found in the devices' Gallery app in a folder labeled RECV.

Disconnect Devices

To disconnect the devices you are sharing with:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Menu > Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.

  2. Touch Wi-Fi Direct.

  3. Touch End connection to disconnect all devices.
