Accessibility Settings for your SUHD TV (UN**KS****)

Customize Accessibility settings to assist users with visual or hearing impairments.

Enable/Disable Voice Guide

The language used for Voice Guide will be the same as the current menu language.
 

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control to access the Home Screen.

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.

  3. Select System.

  4. Select Accessibility.

  5. Select Voice Guide.

    Voice Guide describes the menu options aloud to aid the visually impaired.

  6. Select Voice Guide again.

  7. Select On to enable this feature.

    Repeat steps 1-6, and select Off to disable.

  8. Once Voice Guide is turned On, you can set the following options below:

    • Volume: Set the volume level for the Voice Guide.

    • Pitch: Tune the pitch for the Voice Guide.

    • Speed: Set the speed for the Voice Guide.

    The Voice Guide is provided in the language that is specified on the Language screen. However, some languages are not supported by Voice Guide even though they are listed in the Language screen. English is always supported.

Enable/Disable Captions

• Captions are not displayed by programs that do not support captions.

• The TV cannot control or modify DVD or Blu-ray subtitles. To control DVD or Blu-ray subtitles, use the sub-title feature of the DVD or Blu-ray player and the player's remote control.

Display the audio as text on the screen. 
 

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control to access the Home Screen.

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings

  3. Select System.

  4. Select Accessibility

  5. Select Caption.

  6. Select Caption again.

  7. Select On to enable this feature.

    Repeat steps 1-6, and select Off to Disable.

  8. Once Caption is turned On, you can set the following options below:

    Captions will only appear when viewing programs that support captions.

    • Caption Mode: Select your preferred Caption Mode.

    • Digital Caption Options: (wrong image) Tune the pitch for the Voice Guide.

Enable/Disable High Contrast

Increase the contrast between the text and background for Smart Hub and the Settings menu.
 

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.

  3. Select System

  4. Select Accessibility.

  5. Select High Contrast.

  6. Select On, to enable this feature.

    Repeat steps 1-6, and select Off to Disable.

  7. High Contrast is now enabled. 

Enable/Disable Enlarge

Enlarge the size of the focused area in Smart Hub.
 

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.

  3. Select System

  4. Select Accessibility.

  5. Select Enlarge.

  6. Select On, to enable this feature.

    Repeat steps 1-6, and select Off to Disable.

  7. Enlarge is now enabled.

Select Your Signal

The next step in the Initial Setup is to select the source of your live TV signal.

  • STB (Satellite or Cable Box): Select this option if you use a Satellite or Cable box that connects via HDMI, Component, or Composite.

  • Antenna: Select this option if you use an Over the Air Antenna or a Direct Cable Line.

  • No TV (display only): Select this option if you aren't going to connect a Live TV source, and just want to use apps and external devices.  

STB (Satellite or Cable Box)

Follow these steps to set up the STB connection:

  1. Use the arrow buttons to select STB (Satellite or Cable Box).

  2. Enter your Zip Code to search for service providers in your area. Select your Service provider from the list that appears.

    If you do not see your provider select "My service provider is not listed". You will not be able to use the built-in guide if you select this option.

  3. Next you can set up the universal remote function with the Smart Control remote. Make sure there is nothing blocking the IR receiver of the device you want to control and select OK to continue.  

    You cannot use the Universal remote feature if you have the standard IR remote.

  4. Follow the on-screen steps to finish setting up the universal remote function. When this is done, you have successfully completed the setup.

Antenna (Over the Air or Direct Line) Connection

Follow these steps to set up your channels through an Antenna connection:

  1. Use the arrow buttons on your Samsung remote to select Antenna.  

  2. The TV searches for Antenna and Cable channels available through the Coax connection. This process can take up to 20 minutes. When the Auto Program is done scanning for channels. Select Next and the on-screen guide will continue.  

    Selecting Scan Again will restart the Auto programming process.

  3. You have completed the Initial setup. Select Done to start using the TV, or Smart Interaction Tutorial to learn about the Smart Features on the TV.  

No TV (Display Only)

If you aren't connecting any form of live TV and just want to connect external devices like game consoles, or enjoy the apps on your TV select this option and your setup is complete.
