Control Other Devices with the Smart Control Remote
Want to control your entire home theater system with one remote? You got it! You can control external devices connected to the TV using Smart Control.
• This function is not available on certain models in specific geographical areas.
• Please turn on the device that you want to add before you start.
• Point the remote control at the device you are controlling, and make sure there are no obstacles between the remote control and the device.
Control Other Devices
When you're ready to watch that new movie, hit "Play" and turn up the surround sound when you control the TV and external devices with the same remote. Just follow these steps:
To disable controlling other devices with Smart Control, remove the connected devices.
Connect an external device through the HDMI port of the TV, and then turn on the external device.
Press the Home button on your Smart Control to access the Home Screen.
Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to Source.
When the selector is placed over Source, the Source menu will appear. Press UP on the directional pad to access Universal Remote.
Select Universal Remote on the Source screen.
Select Start to set up your Smart Control as a universal remote, so you can easily control devices.
Select the device type to set up your Universal Remote.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and register the device. The instructions may vary, depending on the device type selected.
If the external device does not respond after registering, register it again using its model number.
The TV memorizes the external device and the connection (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) the device is connected to.
