How Do I Take Screenshots on My Samsung Galaxy S6 Active? (SM-G890A)

A screenshot is a snapshot of your device screen that is saved as a photo. There are several ways to capture screenshots on your device. Screenshots will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery.

 

Capture Screenshot

To capture a screenshot, press the Home button and the Power/Lock button simultaneously until a white border flashes around the edges of the screen.

Palm Swipe

1. Navigate to Apps > Settings >DEVICE > Advanced features.

2. Touch Palm swipe to capture.

3. To turn on Palm swipe to capture, touch the slider.

4. To capture a screenshot, place the side of your hand on the screen and sweep across the screen from right to left or vice versa.

5. The image is saved in the Gallery > Album > Screenshots folder. After capturing a screenshot, you can edit the image and share it with others.

View a Screenshot

From the Notification Panel

1. To access the Notification Panel, swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. To open the screenshot, touch Screenshot captured.

To share, edit, or delete directly from the Notification Panel, touch SHARE, EDIT, or DELETE under the screenshot.

   

   

From the Gallery

1. Navigate to Apps > Gallery.

2. Touch the Screenshots album.

To view your albums, change the sorting option to Albums.

   

3. Touch the screenshot you want to view.

Share a Screenshot

From the Notification Panel

1. To access the Notification Panel, swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. Touch SHARE.

3. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options may vary based on apps installed and features turned on.

   

From the Gallery

1. Navigate to Apps > Gallery.

2. Touch the Screenshots album.

To view your albums, change the sorting option to Albums.

   

3. Touch the screenshot you want to share.

4. Touch Share.

5. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options may vary based on apps installed and features turned on.

Screenshot Options

1. Navigate to Apps > Gallery.

2. Touch the Screenshots folder.

To view your albums, change the sorting option to Albums.

   

3. Touch the screenshot you want to view.

4. The following options are available at the bottom of the screen:

  • Share: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options may vary based on apps and features turned on.
  • Edit: Make adjustments to the screenshot.
  • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

5. Touch MORE for the following options:

  • Rotate left: Rotates the screenshot to the left.
  • Rotate right: Rotates the screenshot to the right.
  • Details: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.
  • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the album.
  • Set as contact picture: Set the screenshot as a contact photo.
  • Set as wallpaper: Set the screenshot as wallpaper.
