Manage Samsung Cloud sync settings for Gallery

Recently synced photos displayed in Samsung Cloud

Samsung Cloud acts as the last line of defense for all your files in the Gallery. From formal photos to silly selfies, you can set the Gallery to automatically sync to Samsung Cloud. You can even restore pictures or videos that were accidentally deleted and sync individual albums.

Note: Available settings may vary by carrier and software version. Not all countries or carriers support this service.

Turn auto sync on or off

On newer phones, the Gallery app's Auto Sync feature is turned off by default. But you can easily turn it on, so all your photos and videos will be uploaded to Samsung Cloud. Just follow the steps below:

From Settings, tap Accounts and backup and then tap Samsung Cloud. Tap Gallery, and then tap the switch next to Sync.

Note: When Auto Sync is off, photos and videos that were already synced will remain on Samsung Cloud.

Sync specific albums in Gallery

Certain photos are more important than others, like family holiday pictures. You can select certain Gallery albums to sync to the cloud, and leave others on your phone. Here's how:

From Settings, tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Samsung Cloud. Tap Gallery, and then tap Sync. Tap Albums to upload, and then tap the switch next to your desired album.

Note: When a new album is created, photos and videos in that album will be uploaded to Samsung Cloud by default if syncing is turned on.

Download pictures and videos from Samsung Cloud

Sometimes, a picture or video is so great, you want to have multiple copies of it. Luckily, if you have photos or videos saved on Samsung Cloud, you can download them onto another device with the same Samsung account.

Delete Gallery files from Samsung Cloud

If you have hundreds of photos you don't need, you can delete them from Samsung Cloud. If you use the method below, the photos will be deleted from the Cloud but will remain on your phone or tablet.

From Settings, tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Samsung Cloud. Tap Gallery, and then tap the arrow next to Recently added. All of your uploaded photos will display; select your desired pictures, and then tap Delete. Finally, tap Delete again to confirm.

If you accidentally deleted a picture, don't fret. Items stored in Samsung Cloud's trash will remain there for 15 days. Just follow these steps to get your files back.

From Settings, tap Accounts and backup, and then tap Samsung Cloud. Tap Gallery, and then tap Trash. Select your desired pictures, and then tap Restore.

Note: If you tap Empty or delete a file in Trash, the file will be permanently deleted.
