Clean the Pump Filter on Your FlexWash Washer
The Pump filter is a small plastic filter designed to sift the debris running through the drain pump as the washer drains. It protects the drain pump and your home's plumbing by filtering things like loose change, pen caps, hair, etc. On average, it only needs to be cleaned every 2 months. However, this number will vary depending on how often you wash clothes, and what you're washing. For that reason, it is important to check the pump filter often and clean it when necessary. This will also help maintain washing performance and prevent odor issues.
Cleaning the Pump Filter
The Samsung FlexWash washer has a pump filter access panel located on the front of the unit. It should be cleaned regularly to prevent unpleasant odor, draining, and filling issues.
Power off the washer, and then unplug it from the electrical outlet. Gently press the top area of the filter cover to open.
Prepare to receive the drainage water by placing an empty, spacious container nearby. Position the emergency drain tube above the container while holding the tube cap (A).
Open the tube cap and let water in the emergency drain tube (B) flow into the container until no more water remains. When done, close the tube cap, and reposition the tube back to its starting position.
Turn the pump filter knob to the left, and drain off the remaining water.
Clean the pump filter using a soft brush. Make sure the drain pump propeller inside the filter is unclogged.
Reinsert the pump filter, and then turn the filter knob to the right. Close the filter cover.
