Perform a Factory Data Reset on Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+

Give your phone a fresh new start. Perform a factory reset to delete all of your personal information from your S6 edge and S6 edge+. You can wipe all your data and protect your privacy before sending the phone in for a replacement or repair, properly disposing of the phone, or giving it to a friend or family member to use.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Perform a Factory Data Reset

Are you ready to start over? Read on. But first, Back Up and Restore Data before you perform a factory data reset.

When Factory resetting your device, the microSD card will not be affected.

Your personal information cannot be recovered after using this feature. Please save any information you need prior to using this feature.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Reset.  

  3. Touch Factory data reset.  

  4. Review the information provided and then swipe to and touch RESET DEVICE.  

    If you have a security lock set on the phone, you will be prompted to enter the lock information before proceeding.

  5. To delete all information and downloaded apps, touch DELETE ALL

    The process may take a few minutes while your phone removes your personal data and restores the Android platform to its original state.
