Check if your SmartThings Hub is up to date

SmartThings will occasionally push firmware updates to Hubs to improve their performance and keep things running smoothly. Fortunately, checking your Hub's firmware version is easy to do. In fact, there are several ways you can check to make sure your Hub is up to date.

Via SmartThings

Whenever you want to see details about your SmartThings Hub, like its firmware version or Hub ID, you can find them in the Hub's menu on your phone.

Navigate to and open the SmartThings app. Tap Menu, tap the Location drop-down menu, and then select the Location the Hub is connected to. Tap Menu > Devices, and then select the Hub card. Tap More Options, and then tap Information to check the firmware version.

Via SmartThings Classic

If you use the SmartThings Classic app with your Hub, it's just as easy to check your firmware version.

Navigate to and open the SmartThings Classic app. Tap Menu, tap the Location drop-down menu, and then tap the Hub's location. Tap Menu > Hub is Online to check the firmware version.

Via IDE Portal

There is yet another way to check your firmware, giving you even more options.

On your phone or computer, open your browser and log into the Samsung IDE portal using your SmartThings or Samsung account. 

If you're using a web browser, select My Hubs near the top of the page. Select the hub you want to look at, and view the Firmware version for your Hub.

If you're on a mobile browser, tap Menu, and then tap Hubs under Developer Tools. Tap the hub you want to look at, and view the Firmware version for your Hub.
