Turn off the camera on your Samsung PC
Webcams are a great way to interact with family and friends over the web. But with recent security concerns, you might be a little worried about using one. Luckily, there are a couple ways to protect your privacy by restricting your webcam when you're not using it.
Manage camera access with Samsung Settings
The Privacy protection feature in Samsung Settings allows you to have full control of when any camera can be accessed or used.
On your Windows 10 PC, search for and click Samsung Settings in the search box. Click Privacy Protection from the menu. Drag the slider under Block Recording to the preferred security level. There are 3 levels to choose:
Low: Camera/microphone can always be accessed.
Medium: The camera/microphone are automatically turned off when the screen is turned off.
High - Always turns the camera/microphone off.
Note: The high setting disables any camera or microphone that are installed completely. The camera or microphone will not be available for any use.
Windows 10 settings for camera usage
These settings will deny unknown apps, organizations, or malware from using the camera or microphone on your Windows 10 PC. Whenever your camera or microphone are used, you should be in charge.
On your Windows 10 PC, click the Start menu and then click Settings. Click Privacy and then Camera from the menu. From here you can allow access to the camera and choose which apps have access to the camera.
Note: The privacy settings are available on versions of Windows 10 newer than version 1809.
