Before You Start
  • When removing the cover screen, ensure that the device is fixed on a flat surface.
  • When removing the cover screen, you need to use the metal opening tool because of its strong adhesion.

Heat the microwaveable heating bag and apply it on the cover screen for 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Do not heat the device in a microwave. Doing so could cause an explosion.It is possible for the device or battery to be damaged by heat.

 

  • Follow the heating bag’s instructions. The recommended time for heating the bag is 50 seconds in a 1000 W microwave and 70 seconds in a 700 W microwave. (Correct temperature for use: 55-65 ℃.)
  • If your device’s glass breaks, the debris can cause injury to your hands or other body parts. For your safety, attach an acrylic protective cover before disassembling the device.
  • Be careful not to damage the device through excessive heat. (It is recommended to disassemble the device in an area with a temperature gauge.)

Place the suction cup in the center of the top edge of the cover screen, and lift it upwards carefully.

For separable handle suction cups, be careful not to injure yourself as the handle can be parted during use.
 
If you have trouble creating a gap, heat the microwaveable heating bag additionally, and apply it on the cover screen to further soften the adhesive. When reheating, it should be heated no longer than 30 seconds.
 
  • As the cover screen can be damaged by excessive force, be careful not to damage the cover screen.
  • Be careful that the suction cup does not adhere to the area where the tape or sticker is attached.

Insert the metal opening tool in the gap of the top edge. Slide the metal opening tool back and forth along the top edge to slice through the adhesive.

  • When removing the cover screen, you need to use the metal opening tool because of its strong adhesion.
  • As the internal circuitry can be damaged, do not insert the metal opening tool more than 1–2 mm.

Lift the top edge upwards with the suction cup and insert the opening pick in the gap at the top edge. Slide the opening pick back and forth along the edge to slice through the adhesive. Repeat this on all sides.

If you have trouble creating a gap, heat the microwaveable heating bag, and apply it on the cover screen to further soften the adhesive. When reheating, it should be heated no longer than 30 seconds.
 
Lift up the cover screen slowly and remove it gently. As the cover screen can be damaged by excessive force, be careful not to damage the cover screen.
 
  • As the internal circuitry can be damaged, do not insert the opening pick more than 1-2 mm.
  • Make sure to leave the opening pick inserted in the edges to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Using the tweezers, disassemble the cover screen’s FPCB cable connector cover first before removing the cover screen.

When removing the cover screen’s FPCB cable connector cover, be careful not to damage the FPCB cable.
 
  • The FPCB cable connector cover should be used again when reassembling, so be careful not to lose it.

Disassemble the FPCB cable connector of the cover screen with the tweezers and separate the cover screen completely.

Before You Start
  • Leaving screws inside the device may damage internal components, such as the battery. When assembling, be extra careful not to leave any unassembled screws inside the device.
  • Before attaching the cover screen, make absolutely sure that there are no screws, miscellaneous parts, or other foreign objects on the inside of the device (among the battery, PBA, etc.).

Remove all adhesive tapes.

Remove all adhesive tapes attached on both inside of the cover screen and the device if you use the existing cover screen as it is.
 
Apply additional heat with a microwaveable heating bag if you are having trouble separating the adhesive. Be careful not to put your fingertips or any foreign objects on the camera and camera lens.
 
  • Make sure to remove any residual tapes attached to the inside of the cover screen before reassembling the device.
  • Be careful not to damage the exposed components.

Remove the transparent film of the new cover screen inner left tape.

Align the tape precisely on the screw location and attach it. Then, using the tweezers and your fingers, gently press around the left edge several times to ensure a secure fit.

Align the tape precisely on the screw location and attach it. Then, using the tweezers and your fingers, gently press around the right edge several times to ensure a secure fit.

Align new cover screen with adhesive tape.

On the device where the inner left and right tapes are attached, align the new cover screen adhesive tape precisely on the screw location and attach it. Using the tweezers and your fingers, gently press around the all the edges carefully several times to ensure a secure fit.

Remove all release films.

Using the tweezers or your fingers, remove all the release films one by one.

Attach the FPCB cable connector.

Assemble the cover screen’s FPCB cable connector first and press down with your fingers.

 

  • When assembling the cover screen’s FPCB cable connector, be careful not to damage the FPCB cable.

Connect the connector cover.

Assemble the cover screen’s FPCB cable connector cover with your fingers or the tweezers and press down the cover softly.

Attach the cover screen.

Attach the cover screen and press down on the edges of the cover screen in order to attach it perfectly. Check the gap between the cover screen and the metal frame.
 
  • If you feel the gap, remove the cover screen and attach it again. Some foreign materials can be inside the device.
