  • Physical SIM: Insert a compatible SIM card into the SIM card slot. Your current phone's SIM card can be used if it's compatible with your network.
  • eSIM: Embedded directly into the device, the eSIM eliminates the need for a physical card, allowing you to use two separate SIM cards at the same time.

Insert a physical SIM card

  1. Power off your phone and locate the SIM tray on the side of the device.
  2. Use the SIM ejection tool to gently push the tray out of the slot.
  3. Place the SIM card onto the tray, making sure it aligns correctly with the metal contacts.
  4. Gently slide the tray back into the slot until it clicks into place.
  5. Once you turn on your device, wait for it to recognize the SIM card.

If you encounter any issues or the device doesn't recognize the SIM card, try removing and reinserting it. Make sure the SIM card is properly aligned and seated in the tray.

Note
Some carriers may not yet support the eSIM capabilities of your Galaxy phone. Contact your carrier if you have any questions about their plans to support eSIM.

Galaxy A17 5G comes with 128GB of internal storage and supports MicroSD cards up to 2 TB.

Types of MicroSD card

MicroSD cards come in different types, and they're not just about how much storage they have. Some have extra features that make them special.

  • MicroSD cards: These have up to 2GB of storage.
  • MicroSDHC (High Capacity) cards: These go up to 32GB.
  • MicroSDXC (Extended Capacity) cards: These start over 32GB and can go up to 2TB.

They also have speed ratings from 2 to 10, with 10 being the fastest.

For your phone, you can use any type of microSD card. But if you're recording high-resolution videos, a microSDXC card is the best choice because it has more storage and faster speeds. If you're just taking regular photos, a regular microSD or microSDHC card will work fine.

Insert a microSD

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off.
  2. Use the ejector tool (included in the box) to gently press into the hole next to the tray.
  3. Once the tray pops out, carefully pull it out of the device.
  4. To add a microSD card, place it in the larger opening of the tray. Make sure the gold contacts face downwards. Reinsert the tray into the device.
