Finger sensor gestures do not open or close the Notification panel on Galaxy phones

Finger sensor gestures are not supported on certain Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Fold5, Z Flip6, Z Flip5, and devices with under-display sensors. However, you can use swipe gestures instead when accessing the Notification panel and Samsung Wallet.

Enable Finger sensor gestures on supported devices

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Advanced features, and then tap Motions and gestures.

  2. Tap the switch next to Finger sensor gestures.

Enable swipe gestures for the Notification panel

  1. Navigate to and open Settings, then tap Home screen, and then tap the switch next to Swipe down for notification panel.

  2. Next, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification panel and view your notifications.

  3. To close the Notification panel, swipe up on the screen when the panel is open.

Enable quick access swipe gestures for Samsung Wallet

  1. Navigate to and open the Samsung Wallet app, then tap the All access tab, and then tap More options (the three vertical dots).
  2. Tap Settings, then tap Quick access, and then tap Swipe up gesture.
  3. Tap the switch(es) next to your desired option, such as Lock screen, Home screen, and Screen off.
