Step tracking and heart rate monitoring not working properly on Galaxy watch
Ensure the watch's fit is snug.
If the watch is too loose or the sensor is dirty, it may have difficulty tracking your steps and heart rate. Clean the watch and make sure it's properly fitted to get the best results.
You can find steps on how to properly clean and wear your watch here.
Reboot the watch.
Swipe down from the top of the watch screen, and tap Power. Tap Power again to turn the watch off. Once the watch is powered down, press and hold the Power/Home key for a second or two until the watch comes back on.
You can also force a reboot by pressing and holding the Home key (Power key) and Back key simultaneously for about 7 seconds until the watch displays "Rebooting..."
When the watch has finished booting, test the step and heart rate trackers.
Check for software updates.
If you are still having issues after rebooting your watch, check for software updates on your watch and the Galaxy Wearable app.
