How to use Google Duo on Samsung TV
Google Duo is a free and simple video calling app that brings you face-to-face with the people who matter most. Up to 32 people can join in a group video call on Google Duo. Now, install the Google Duo app on your Samsung TV, and enjoy a group video call on your TV using the Google Duo app. The number of windows shown on screen varies by TV models.
Starting the Google Duo app on a Samsung TV
You can easily find the Google Duo app at Apps preview. But, if you cannot find the Google Duo app at Apps preview, please follow the guide below.
Note: A webcam should be connected to the TV to use Google Duo. Supported webcams are listed at the end of this guide.
Please follow the steps below to sign in to the Google Duo app on your TV.
Step 1. On your Samsung TV, open the Google Duo app.
Step 2. Click Sign in.
Step 3. On your mobile, open the Google Duo app.
Step 4. At the top right, tap More options (the three vertical dots) 〉 Settings 〉 Account 〉 TV Sign in 〉 Connected.
Note: You must add your Google account to your Google Duo account to use Google Duo on your Samsung TV. Please follow the instructions below to add an account for Android Devices and iPhones & iPads.
- Android Devices : Open Google Duo app > Settings > Tap Add account
- iPhones & iPads : Open Google Duo app > Tap More options (the three vertical dots) > Settings > Account >Add account
You can make a call using Google Duo on your TV by following the steps below.
Step 1. On your Samsung TV, open the Google Duo app.
Step 2. Choose an option below and make a call.
Option 1. Click Start a call.
Option 2. Click someone from your recent activity and make a call.
Option 3. At the top, search for a contract and make a call.
Starting the Google Duo app from a USB camera launcher
You can make a video call with the Google Duo app by connecting a USB camera launcher to your TV. Please follow the steps below to make a video call.
Step 1. Connect a compatible USB camera to your TV. A USB camera connection notification will be displayed on the screen.
"USB camera has been connected. Would you like to view it now?"
Step 2. Select View. Then, the camera app will be launched on the screen.
Step 3. Select Video Call and the Google Duo app will be launched automatically.
Step 4. Sign-in with your Google account using a smartphone.
Step 5. Select your contacts to make video calls.
Troubleshoot connection issues to the Google Duo app
If the app doesn't connect to the TV, try the following.
Step 1. Connect your Samsung TV and mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 2. On your network router, turn on Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).
Step 3. On your Samsung TV, use Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) Wi-Fi.

Note:
- USB cameras that are not on the list will not be compatible to the TVs and a notification will be shown on the screen.
- The list of supported USB cameras will be updated.
Supported Samsung TV models
- Q70A and higher: The Google Duo app is supported and the Smart Camera feature is supported. (AU9000 and Q60A to be applied after Sep'21)
- Google Duo is not supported on Lifestyle models except for The Frame. (Model No: LS03A)
