A message may appear if the memory space required to create a backup of the selected data content items on your existing Android device is insufficient. If such a message does appear, do one or more of the following:
- Uncheck some data content items from your old device to allow a backup file to be generated. E.g. First transfer your images, then videos and so on.
 - If your device has SD card compatibility, move some content (videos, images, documents) to your SD card (in the old device).
 - To transfer the rest of your data content items, add a micro SD card to your new new compatible Samsung device. *Compatible Galaxy devices only.

- Insert your SD card or OTG adaptor connected with your selected USB Flash Drive.
 - Open Smart Switch on your Samsung device.
 - Tap on the Blue Memory Card icon on the top right of the screen.
 - Select Back up
 - Tap on the content you would like backed up then select the blue arrow key to begin the backup process.
 - Allow the backup to reach 100% then tap Done once complete
 - Once you are ready to remove the USB drive or SD Card simply swipe down on your screen to access your quick settings menu > tap unmount on the external storage then safely remove from your device.

No, Smart Switch uses Wi-Fi Direct which does not require either of the devices, existing or new devices to have data connectivity or local Wi-Fi access.
You should ensure the below requisites are kept in mind for both the devices before you initiate data transfer between your existing device and the new device:
- Devices battery needs to be sufficiently charged prior to the data transfer.
 - Latest Smart Switch mobile app is installed on both the devices.
 - If using a cable, use the USB-C to USB-C cable (provided within the device box) to connect your device to your new Samsung mobile device. If your old device does not have a USB-C input, try to transfer your data wirelessly
 - Connect the USB-C cable to your new Samsung device before initiating the data.
