Find Recipes and Plan Meals on your Family Hub™ Fridge

Your Samsung Family Hub™ fridge comes with the Meal Planner app, including recipes that can be tailored to your requirements and preferences. The Meal Planner will provide you with step by step instructions for each recipe. If you are missing ingredients, you can simply send the items to the Shopping List app and even purchase them online. 

The Meal Planner app allows you to find and select from customised recipes.

02 Tap Start and select your favourite cuisines. Tap Next.

03 Select your preferred ingredients from the list. Tap Next.

04 Add any allergies or dietary requirements. Samsung Food will avoid these ingredients when suggesting recipes. Tap Next.

05 Select your nutrition goals and set your cooking skill level before tapping Get Started.

06 From here you will be shown a range of recipes for the given week. You can tap Add surprise meal or tap Add (+) below it to automatically add a new meal or to beable to search for a new meal.

01 Open the 'Meal Planner app' on your Family Hub.

02 Select the meal you would like to make.

04 Follow the recipe. You can tap 'Step-by-step cooking' to have the instructions read aloud to you.

Note: Tap See recipe details to visit the website the recipe was taken from.

06 If a certain recipe was a huge hit with your family, you can save it and make it again. Tap the 'Calendar' icon in the top right, then select your desired day, and then tap 'Set a plan' to save the recipe for that day.

Family Hub™

01 Open the Meal Planner app, tap More options and then tap Settings.

02 Tap start week on and choose the start date from Saturday, Sunday or Monday

03 Tap recommended weekly meal plan to adjust when you will receive recommendations

04  Tap Recommended weekly meal plan to change when you’ll receive recommendations. When you're finished, tap Set a plan. You can also tap the switch next to Recommended weekly meal plan to enable or disable this setting.

From a Phone or Tablet

01 Open the SmartThings app and tap the 'Life' tab.

02 Tap Cooking.

03 Select 'More Options' and the tap 'Settings'.

04  Tap on 'Food Preferences' to edit your favourite cuisines and ingredients, foods to avoid, nutrition goals, cooking ability andhousehold members. 

05 Tap 'Recipe language' to change your preferred langiage. 

07 Tap the toggle next to Meal Planner to enable or disable notifications for Auto Meal Planning. 

 

To access even more convenient settings from SmartThings Cooking, tap More options (the three vertical dots) again, and then select from the following:

  • Add to home screen: Add a Cooking widget to your device.
  • Timer: Start a timer while you’re cooking. 
  • How to use: View a short tutorial for SmartThings Cooking.

 

01 Navigate to and open the Meal Planner app on your family hub and tap ‘More Options’, then tap ‘Send to Shopping List’.

02 Select the recipes you plan on making, and then tap ‘Send’ to send the required ingredients to your list. Tap ‘View’ on the pop up to view your current shopping list.

Note: Tap ‘All’ at the top to select every recipe.

Access your list from the SmartThings app on your phone or tablet.

01 Open the SmartThings app on your device.

02 Tap the 'Lifee' tab and then tap Cooking.

03 Tap the Shopping Cart 'Icon' in the bottom right corener to view your Shopping List.
