Add your accounts to your Samsung Galaxy

To access apps, send emails or sync your data on your Galaxy phone or tablet, you need to sign in with an account. For example, you’ll need a Google account to download apps from the Play Store and a Samsung account to use Samsung services or get apps from the Galaxy Store. The good news is that you can easily add all of your existing accounts to your Samsung Galaxy device.

Note: Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version and device model.

The best way to get the most from your Galaxy phone or tablet is to sign in with a Samsung account. It gives you access to Samsung’s exclusive features, services, and apps so you can enjoy your device to its fullest.

Step 1. Open the Settings menu. Then, scroll through the menu and tap Accounts and backup.

Step 2. Tap Manage accounts.

Step 3. Tap Add account.

Step 4. Tap Samsung account.

Step 5. Sign in to your Samsung account using the option of your choice. In this example, Email or phone number was selected.

Step 6. Enter your Samsung account email or phone number, and then tap Next.

Step 7. Enter your password, and then tap Sign in.

Step 8. Check the required boxes to confirm you reviewed the associated information, and then tap Agree.

Step 9. If you want to set up Samsung Pass for faster sign-ins, tap Create passkey, and then follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, tap Set up passkey later.

Screens and options can vary depending on your device and software version, and they may change over time. No matter what you see, simply follow the on-screen instructions as your Samsung Galaxy device will always guide you through the process.

Adding your Google account to your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet lets you download apps from the Play Store, sync your contacts and calendar and access all of your Google services. Signing in ensures your data stays backed up and makes your device easier to use every day.

Step 1. Open the Settings menu. Then, scroll through the menu and tap Accounts and backup.

Step 2. Tap Manage accounts.

Step 3. Tap Add account.

Step 4. Tap Google.

Step 5. Enter your Gmail address, and then tap Next.

Step 6. Enter your Gmail password, and then tap Next.

Step 7. Select who will be using the device, and then tap Next.

Step 8. Review the information on the screen, and then tap I agree.

Step 9. Review the information on the screen, and then tap Accept.

Note: Screens and options can vary depending on your device and software version, and they may change over time. No matter what you see, simply follow the on-screen instructions as your Samsung Galaxy device will always guide you through the process.

You can remove an account from your Galaxy phone or tablet if you no longer use it or no longer want it linked to your device. Keep in mind that you will lose access to any data associated with that account on your phone. Removing an account only disconnects it from the device. It does not delete the account itself.

Step 1. Open the Settings menu. Then, scroll through the menu and tap Accounts and backup.

Step 2. Tap Manage accounts.

Step 3. Tap the account you want to remove.

Step 4. Tap Remove account.

Step 5. Tap Remove at the bottom of the screen to confirm.

Step 6. The account will no longer appear on the “Manage accounts” screen once it has been removed.

Note:

  • Depending on the type of account being removed, additional steps may be required. You may be asked to enter your password again to confirm your identity before the account is removed.
  • If you change your mind, you can reconnect your Samsung Galaxy device to the account at any time.
