Samsung account setup and management guide
A Samsung account gives you access to Samsung services and features across your devices. You can use it to download apps from the Galaxy Store, connect and control smart devices with SmartThings, back up and restore your data, sync your information between devices, and more. Your Samsung account also helps keep your information secure and makes it easier to recover your account if you forget your password or switch to a new device. This guide will show you how to create, sign in to, manage, secure, and remove your Samsung account on your Galaxy phone or tablet, Samsung TV or in a web browser.
Note: The information provided applies to Samsung devices sold in Canada. Screens and settings may vary for devices sold in other countries.
Creation
Creating a Samsung account on your Samsung Galaxy is the easiest way to get started with Samsung apps and services. During the setup process, you can use your phone number to help secure your account with two-step verification, which is now required for many Samsung account features. This also makes it easier to verify your identity, recover your account and sign in to your Samsung devices in the future.
Note: The steps and available options may vary depending on your Samsung Galaxy, software version and country. Follow the on-screen instructions on your device to complete the account creation process.
Using the Samsung account website is another easy way to create a Samsung account. This option can be more convenient if you prefer using a larger screen, such as a tablet or computer, especially since the setup process requires entering personal information and verifying your account. Once your account is created, you can use it to sign in to your Samsung devices and Samsung services.
Connection
Signing in to your Samsung account is one of the best ways to get the most from your Samsung Galaxy. It gives you access to Samsung apps, services, and features, lets you sync and back up your data, and helps you keep your devices connected and up to date.
Note: The steps shown in this guide illustrate only one possible way to sign in to your Samsung account. Other login methods are also available. Screens and options can vary depending on your device and software version, and they may change over time. No matter what you see, simply follow the on-screen instructions as your Samsung Galaxy device will always guide you through the process.
Signing in to your Samsung account from a web browser is another convenient option. Using a larger screen, such as a computer or tablet, can make it easier and more comfortable to enter your account information and manage sign-in requests. However, you can use any device with an internet connection, including a phone.
Note: For more information about two-step verification and verification methods, refer to the “Verify access to your Samsung account with two-step verification” section of this guide.
Before you can sign in to a Samsung account on your Samsung TV, you must first create the account on another device, such as a phone, tablet or computer. Once your Samsung account is created, signing in on your TV is quick and straightforward.
Note: If you chose to scan the QR code on your TV screen, just follow the prompts on your phone to complete the sign-in. The process is quick and easy.

Security and advanced settings
After creating your Samsung account, you will receive a verification email to confirm your identity. Email verification helps protect your account and is also important if you ever need to reset your password or recover access to your account.
Note: You can create multiple Samsung accounts if you have multiple email addresses. However, each Samsung account is managed separately, even if they belong to the same person.
Samsung accounts require two-step verification to help protect your account and personal information. This means that when you sign in to your Samsung account, you may need to complete an additional verification step, such as approving the sign-in request from another Samsung Galaxy device already connected to your account and then entering the verification code sent to that trusted device.
Note: If you experience issues signing in to your Samsung account because of two-step verification, please contact us.
