This is a re-write of my review, as requested by Samsung: For the picture on this TV I would give it 5-stars. The picture and the screen's abilities to provide an excellent picture are outstanding. It is able to provide anything you might prefer from quite dim to absolutely brilliantly bright. Contrast can be adjusted to the same level of extremes as the brightness. The uniformity of the picture is also all that you could ask of a set, especially in this price range. Being a 4K TV, its ability to upscale is something to really appreciate and is apparent when watching media that was made pre-1080I, as the upscaling feature does improve the lower resolution of those productions in most cases. The sound is fairly decent considering the set is a simple two-speaker, down-firing system, with a relatively low-powered amplifier. Sadly though, like so many manufacturers today have done, the only audio out is for optical devices only. Long gone are any "legacy" hook-ups and I should point out here that not only includes the sound output, buy the video input as well. You can no longer use RGB, component or even the traditional fall-back default of RCA composite connections. There's HDMI in and Optical audio out. There is a single USB A port that can be used to input from USB memory media devices for movies, videos, etc. All of these things are pluses for this set and we like them. Now, for what we don't like: One, the included remote is sorely lacking in what it is able to control on the TV, mostly due to it being done in a "minimalist" style. What I'm saying here is Samsung has attempted to move as much control from the included remote to the screen itself. If you've been paying attention to what has been happening in new cars with the manufacturers removing buttons and knobs from the dashboards, and placing them on a screen on the dash instead, well they've done on this TV. Samsung has tried to strike a similar aesthetic here on this TV and probably all of their sets. To put it simply, we don't like what they've done. The few buttons that remain on the remote are very poorly labeled, and some of them don't move in an intuitive manner. For example, there are two very small rectangular buttons that stick up from the surface of the remote about 1/16th of an inch. It took me quite some time to realize you needed to use these to change the channel, but you don't "push down" to get a response. You must "catch" the top edge of these little buttons to "rock" or "nudge" them either forward or backward. If you're anything like the average person you will frequently find your fingers simply sliding over the top of the button because they're very small, they do not stick up very far and the plastic is very smooth, almost slippery. This is very much how the design of the entire included remote is done. Not easy to use, almost indecipherable and actually small enough that you can easily have it fall out your hand if you aren't careful with it. Now, our second dislike and it looms large for us. This isn't our first 4K Samsung set. Our first Samsung 4K set is now about 10 years old, but its menu system is far more intuitive, logical and understandable. Our new MiniLED set's menus are very trying, not logical and many times the only way to actually pull something up that you want is to use the search function. We are keeping the TV because we love the picture and sound, and we found an excellent work-around so that we can use our new set. The remote from our 10 year old Samsung 4K set works perfectly with the new set, and the way it was laid out brings back the logic and control that was missing due to the included remote being almost useless for us. With the old remote we now can access every feature on this new TV and do not have to hunt and depend on moving a little cursor around on the screen to back control. Good TV, bad remote and software.

Press and release quickly to mute. • Long-press Volume button: Hold for more than 1 second to open Accessibility Shortcuts. • RETURN button: Press to go back to the previous menu or screen. While watching TV, it takes you back to the previous channel. These functions allow for a more streamlined experience without adding extra buttons. Learn TV Remote is a feature designed to help users become familiar with the layout and function of each button on the Samsung remote. When enabled, pressing any button (except the Power button, which will still turn off the TV) will prompt the TV to announce the button’s name and its purpose – without affecting TV operation. This teaching mode is especially useful for users who are visually impaired or new to Samsung remotes. To enable this feature, go to: Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility > Learn TV Remote. To exit, simply press the Return key twice. I didn't really believe the previous reviewers .. but it is true .. comes without the BBC iPlayer app ??.. unbelievable .. a brand new TV doesn't have the main streaming app ? I really think this should be in big bold letters at the top of the device information. NOTE.. BBC IPLAYER is not available.. and we don't know when it will be !!

I'm really happy with my Samsung TV overall. The picture quality is definitely the standout for me The brightness is excellent, especially in a bright room, and the contrast gives the image a really nice sense of depth. Colors look vibrant without being overdone, and everything just looks sharp clean, and detailed I'm also very pleased with the screen uniformity. Bright and dark areas look consistent, and I haven't noticed anything distracting that takes away from the viewing experience, The responsiveness of the TV did take a bit of getting used to. The menus, apps, and general interface feel a little different from what I was used to, so there was a bit of a learning curve. That said, once you spend some time with it, it becomes easier and more intuitive My main disappointment is the sound. I would much rather have the TV audio go through my AV receiver and external speaker setup. The built-in speakers are fine, but if you already have a proper audio system, the integration could definitely be smoother and more straightforward Overall though, I'm very pleased with it. The brightness, contrast, vibrancy, sharpness, and overall picture quality are all excellent. There's a bit of adjustment needed with the interface, and I'd prefer better integration with an external receiver for sound, but none of that really takes away from how good the picture is Great picture and a very enjoyable TV overall

So I had 65’ Samsung crystal uhd prior to this mini led and tho the features are almost exactly the same I feel the crystal uhd had a couple more things than this one. On the other hand the new mini led has the 4K upscale feature which is pretty cool bcuz even older resolution quality video doesn’t necessarily get any better but you can see the way the movement is that it is much better than how it would originally be seen. But then the lack of inputs on the mini led is really disappointing I utilized the optical and yeah it’s just overall better with as many inputs as possible bcuz your options become much greater. And on a tv with the potential of this one, to have the lack of connection options is a big factor. Had I known it wouldn’t have all the inputs and/or connection possibilities of other TVs I might have gone with a different model. Better obviously seeing as the lack of inputs is probably due to the affordability of the tv so on so forth to not be limited tho and have gotten the same price I’d have given prob 5 stars. It can’t be too difficult for you guys to include them inputs on the motherboard schematics would it?? But I’ll end it by saying Samsung does much much greater out perform any other brand of tv and has much much better performance than yeah any other brand I’ve encountered in recent time. Vizio is crap. And any other brands just don’t give you the way to link your devices or the application options that Samsung does!!! Keep up the good work but cmon now stop limiting our connection and input capabilities please!!

Great tv, easy to set up and navigate. Sound and picture both very good. The only flaw I have found is being unable to get bbc iPlayer. Disappointing when it was simple to get the other apps I wanted.

This is thee worst user interface I've ever used on any TV in my lifetime. I had a 65" Samsung TV and it was nice, that's why I bumped up to a 75". Big mistake. All the user controls are hidden in a maze of confusion that takes you minutes to find for adjustment. For live TV you literally have to go and make sure the guide is on which ever TV channels you're using. If you're watching Samsung TV and you switch to OTA content, want to change the channel, you literally have to go back into the maze, find the menu for OTA channels and click on that or your channel will change back to Samsung TV channels. Super horrible interface!! Next, there's no optical out. WHAT IN THE WORLD‽‽ 99% of the home theater systems use optical for their audio. But not this one, right? If your system doesn't support eARC audio, you're screwed... Next, when you watch a streaming service, it automatically switches from whatever TV screen mode you're using, over to film maker mode. Yup... You now have to go back into the maze and manually turn your mode back to whatever you were using... In short, whoever developed the user interface for this TV should, needs to be fired!!! This will be the last Samsung TV that I'll ever buy, FACT!!

Short term owner of this Samsung 85" TV but so far, I am very happy with the unit. The picture quality, contrast and refresh rate have been very good. We have a large viewing room which measures approximately 20' x 40' and no matter where you are in the room, the view and picture quality look great. I paired a JBL 500Mk2 soundbar system with this TV and that makes it all the more wonderful.

Videos, movies and TV shows come through extremely well. Picture quality is more than I anticipated. My prior flat screen was more than 10 years old. The remote with it has fewer functions than I had been used to and it came without any instructions. My WiFi provider included Netflix and HBO. The remote has a Netflix button so that works fine, but I'm at a loss on how to connect HBO. 4 stars for almost getting there but lose one for lack of instructions for the remote.

Finally decided to divorce the family from cable subscription and purchase the Samsung 55” Mini smart tv. Our old smart was 60”. Not missing it one bit. The Mini is pre-loaded with Samsung Plus, Netflix, Prime and You Tube which makes viewing very convenient. Picture colors are vibrant and clear. To augment audio, I purchased a Samsung sound bar compatible with my TV. In all, this meets all our entertainment requirements and expectations. Hopefully, it lasts a lifetime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a 75 year old pensioner and not in the best of health the set was easily assembled with my supervision and the instructions provided & set up including the necessary connections. As stated above regarding health and age I do not the smart facility so it would have been helpful if this facility could have been turned off as I will never use it. It works well with my Freeview 4K set top box apart from the smart facility getting involved for some reason. As smart facility getting involved with Freeview 4K set top box only 4 stars in features sorry.

Overall it's a great tv. I'm not to thrilled about the remotes response to the TV there is definitely a lag btwn the two. I have to use a soundbar to get a decent quality sound out of the TV, the factory speakers are weak for a Samsung. But the overall picture brightness, color, and contrast of the TV is great. You get what you pay for and this wasn't a bad or regretful buy. I will definitely do it again.

I purchased this TV with the confidence that it will be just as great or even greater than their older models. However, the Tv start up menu is super lagging and picture calibration settings are limited to changing how you'd like the colors to look. The remote is minimal and you have to toggle through other settings to use between numbers for channels or settings menu. When you use what PICTURE settings that are available, the colors bleed into each other or are too dark. The speakers are garbage, really low even when raising the volume all the way up. The AI is useless and not necessary. The only thing I did enjoy from this TV is the size but when the picture is looking faded, colors not as they should, or sound is canned and not loud enough, it takes away the whole experience. I have older Samsung TVs that have better picture, sounds great and easier to toggle through menu with an actual TV remote rather than the minimal one it comes with now. Not recommended for those who like to collaborate their settings to their liking for gaming or movie experience.

Great tv. Love the picture. Bright clear colors. Only complaint is the remote. It’s nothing like the remotes I received with other Samsung TVs. You have to be within a couple feet for it to work. Also, it comes with batteries instead of a usb port for charging. Samsung definitely missed the mark on this

The TV worked well for four days, and then the backlight stopped working. The audio was fine, and if we looked at the TV at a certain angle, we could see images were playing on the screen. However, the backlight failed, and we had to return the TV.

Setting up the channels and home screen was easy enough: just follow the instructions given. All together it took about 15 minutes to setup and enjoy.

I love my new Samsung TV. It is so clear and bright, plus it is easy to use. I was a little confused at first about having to create a login before I could use Netflix, etc., but once logged in, everything is working perfectly. I bought this TV mainly for one reason, ehich was to use SmartView to mirror the TV to a samsung tablet. My wife is legally blind and cannot see TV, but can somewhat by using a tablet held close. All the searches and literature I reviewed, included Samsung web sites, indicated this was possible, but apparently this functionality has been taken away. So, I am dissapointed in the purchase and would not have bought this TV had I known of this limitation.

A few months ago, I received an 85-inch Samsung Mini-LED M70H TV as a Father's Day gift, and honestly, I am disappointed with the system's quality. It responds very slowly when I try to adjust settings or switch apps; the picture isn't what I expected, the sound quality is very poor, and the remote control's functionality is practically useless.

Great overall television. Excellent in every category. Volume took a bit of tweaking to get perfect, but now it is. Very good product at a very very reasonable price. So far company support has been excellent. The amount of options available through apps and through the television itself is varied and wide. I just plugging the television into a power source and having Internet access you have availability to nearly everything.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this TV two weeks ago and it is nothing but e-waste in my opinion. They say 4K up scaling of low quality content which is ridiculous. Free to wear content is appalling to watch. Football mode, what a joke. You can’t watch live free to wear football on this TV as all the football players are pixelated around their bodies and it is very difficult to watch. It hurts the eyes. Even streaming services struggle with creating a decent image without pixelation and blurring. Could not recommend this TV to anybody. It’s cheap and it’s cheap for a reason.

The refresh rate is good when I use it to play games or watch sports like FIFA. The upscaling is helping improve the quality when I watch low-resolution movies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving my TV, I felt the box to be very light, until i opened it and set it up and that was a surprise how a small and light TV could produce such a great crystal clear picture quality! We had a movie night with the kids and it was so unreal, we felt we were in a theater room but just with a smaller screen, we could see details and the color contrast was strong. The sound quality was clear and perfect for a small room, we did not need extra speakers. The setup was fairly easy and connectivity was super fast. Great TV Samsung!

The connectivity was very easy and quick, i could also pair it quickly with my Samsung soundbar. My Son plays games and it was so crystal clear, no lagging or flaws. Downloading apps and streaming was so smooth and its a good size for my son's room. not to big nor too small. I would highly recommend this model.

I literally just scanned the QR code with my phone, and it pulled my Wi-Fi settings, TV channels, and even recognized the devices I already had through SmartThings. I didn't have to manually enter passwords or go through a bunch of setup screens. It pretty much did everything for me. Once it was finished, my phone was already set up as a remote without me having to do any extra work. It made getting everything up and running quick and easy. I definitely recommend it.
