How to install your range

The first thing you should do is double check the length, width, and height measurements to make sure it’s going to fit. Once you know it will fit, check the wall outlet you’re going to use to see whether it’s a 3 or 4-prong outlet. You’ll need to contact a professional installer or electrician to attach the power cord, and let them know which type of outlet you have. If needed, the pro will also be able to install the conduit to protect wiring and replace the access panel. Once that’s taken care of, attach the anti-tip bracket to the wall, which secures the range and reduces injury risk. Next, slide the range into place, and carefully tip it forward to make sure the bracket works. All that’s left is to level the range, and if your new range is gas, then install the burner heads and burner caps. You got this! Watch the video for full details.

Cooking basics and troubleshooting

Follow these tips and tricks to keep your cooking on track when using your new Samsung range. First, it’s important to follow recommended rack settings and use recommended cookware types. It’s also important to know that chemical and shipping scents are normal at first. Just remove any packaging and rack ties, and leave your oven on for an hour at high heat to air out the smells. It’s also typical to hear clicking and clacking noises, and some cooktops have unique noises. When cooking, don’t over-fill your oven. Allow for at least one inch of space around your food so heat reaches all sides, and keep the oven door closed while cooking so heat doesn’t escape. If you think your oven temperature may need calibrated, don’t measure it with any old oven thermometer. Instead, test the oven by making a frequently used recipe and then calibrate accordingly. If you’re having some heating issues, you might need to disable Demo Mode. Check your circuit breakers if the oven doesn’t seem to turn on at all. Clean and position burner heads and caps correctly so they’re no problems with those parts. You got this! Watch the video for full details.

How to clean electric and gas ranges

The best way to maintain an electric range and prevent stain buildup is to clean spills up right away. Once you’re done cooking, turn the range off and allow it to cool, and then wipe it down after each use. For tough stains, you can use a scraper. For stainless steel parts, use a stainless steel cleaner to keep them spiffy, but stay away from abrasive cleaning products. Clean knobs in warm, soapy water. For grates, griddles and wok rings, use hot water and a stiff brush. Cleaning a gas range is generally more complex. Assembling and disassembling burners requires precision. Keep ignitors and gas orifices dry. Clean burner heads and caps in soapy water, and use scouring pads for tough stains. Remove clogs with a pin or needle. And, no matter what you’re cleaning, make sure it’s dry before reassembling or repositioning. You got this! Watch the video for details.

Dos and don’ts for using the Self-Clean oven feature

Use the Self-Clean cycle on your Samsung oven to make cleaning the oven a breeze. Self-Clean blasts high heat to melt away food residue. It’s important to make sure the oven is in a well ventilated area if you’re going to use self-clean. Before starting the cycle, remove any pans, racks, and accessories from the oven, make sure it isn’t lined with foil, and don’t apply any oven cleaner. Now you’re ready to run the cycle, but make sure to keep kids and pet birds away from the oven while it’s running. It will be hot, and the fumes may be harmful to any birds. When the cycle is finished, wipe away any residue on the surface, but avoid commercial oven cleaners. Be aware that the door locks during heating and stays sealed during the cooling period, so always be careful of hot air around the appliance. Turn the oven off if it’s smoky or doesn’t seem to work right, and cut the power before contacting a qualified service technician. You got this! Watch the full video for details.

Best ways to clean your microwave

Gunk and grime can build up fast when you use a microwave. To keep buildup and lingering odors to a minimum, clean your microwave at least once a week, and get those spills up right away. To clean the inside, let the Steam Clean feature do the heavy lifting. If your model doesn’t have steam clean, heat water with a pinch of lemon juice for the same result. Clean your turntable in the dishwasher or with warm, sudsy water in the sink. For the outside of the microwave, wipe down the control panel and underneath the appliance with a warm water and a detergent solution. Don’t forget the door and its seals! Clean the grease filter once a month, or replace your charcoal filter every six months to a year. If you’ve just used the microwave, make sure it’s cool before starting to clean prevent heat-related injuries. You got this! Watch the video for more details.

How to fix range and microwave problems

If you see an error code flashing on your Samsung range or microwave, don’t panic. Some basic troubleshooting can usually fix the problem!

Often, a simple power cycle can get you back on track. Just turn the power off and then back on, or disconnect from the power source. If the error code still displays, there are some easy steps you can try before calling a technician. If you see t-E-S-t on the range, you need to turn off Demo mode. If you see –dE or –dC, remove the divider from the oven, and put it back in. Give the open door a good push when you see the door error code. Try reconnecting the power when bAd LinE appears, though you may need to contact a pro about this one. Unblock the vent when the C-24 code occurs and let the oven cool. If the microwave doesn’t turn on, or if it turns on by itself, check the circuit breaker.

If the microwave isn’t heating or has stopped working, make sure it isn’t in demo mode, check the kitchen timer and the door, and ensure there’s enough clearance on both sides. Call for service when all else fails. You got this! Watch the video for full details.
