Community Choice voting for the 10 National Finalists is now closed. Judges are reviewing all submissions. Tune back in on April 29th & 30th during our live National Finalist events to watch the National Finalists in-person pitches live, find out which school has won the Community Choice award, and find out which 3 schools will be announced as this year’s National Winners!
Who is eligible?
Public and charter school teachers serving students in grades 6–12 are eligible to enter. Only schools that are at least 50% publicly funded are eligible to compete. See FAQs for more information.

TEACHERS ENTER THE CONTEST
Aug. 29 - Nov. 14th
Teachers apply to the contest by submitting the entry form describing their students' project due Nov. 14th. Visit our judging criteria for more information.
STATE FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
Dec. 5 - Jan. 11
Judges will evaluate the entry forms and announce up to 300 State Finalists. State Finalists will be selected to receive a $2,500 prize package. See Official Rules for details.
STATE WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Jan. 30 - Mar. 7
Judges will evaluate the activity plans and announce up to 50 State Winners. State Winners will be selected to receive a $12,000 prize package, plus a Samsung video kit to help with the video portion of their project along with help from a Samsung Employee mentor. See Official Rules for details.
NATIONAL FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
March 26
Judges will evaluate video submissions and announce the 10 National Finalists that will move forward in the competition and win a trip to Washington DC location for the final judging event. National Finalists win $50,000 in Samsung technology and classroom materials.
COMMUNITY AND EMPLOYEE CHOICE VOTING
Mar. 26 - Apr. 23
The public will vote for their favorite projects from the top ten Nationalist Finalists on social media from Mar. 26 - Apr. 23. One Community Choice Winner and one Employee Choice Winner will be announced at the National Winner reveal.
FINAL JUDGING EVENT
April 29
The top ten National Finalists will win a trip to Washington DC location for a final, in-person pitch to a panel of judges. At the end of the event, judges will announce one Community Choice Winner, one Employees Choice Winner, and three National Winners.
Pre-COVID vs. Today: How the Top Social Issues for STEM Students Have Shifted
According to Solve for Tomorrow STEM-based project entries, COVID-19 related matters such as health and social justice now rank as today’s top teen issues to tackle.
