Taking Screenshots on Your Samsung Galaxy Tab® 2 (10.1)

There are two methods available for taking screen captures from your device:

Not all of these options are available. It depends on the version of software you are running on the device.

Manual Method for Capturing

  1. Navigate to the desired screen.  

  2. Press the Power button and Home key at the same time to capture the displayed screen. You will hear the camera shutter sound as the device captures the screen.

Your mobile device lets you take a screen capture of the image on the screen by touching Screen capture .

If you changed the "quick launch" slot to another feature, add the icon back by touching the clock to open the Notification Panel, and touching Settings > Display > Quick launch > Screen capture.

  1. Open the Notification Panel by touching the clock in the lower-right corner, and touch Screenshot captured.  

  2. To view your screenshots at any time, from the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery > Screenshots.

  3. Several shortcuts will be available at the top of the screen. Touch:  

    •  Open the camera application to capture a new image.

    •  Share the screenshot with Group Cast, Dropbox®, Picasa™, Photo editor, Google+™, Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi Direct™, Gmail™, or Email.

      Additional sharing options may be available on your device. The options may vary based on applications installed and features you have activated.

    • Open all of the images in the screenshot folder and play them in a slideshow. This icon location may change when other features, such as sharing the image with a DLNA® wireless device, are available.

    •  Delete the screenshot you are viewing.

  4. Touch Menu for the following additional options:  

    • Face tag: Tag any faces shown in the screenshot.

    • Copy to clipboard: Copy the screenshot to the clipboard for use in another application.

    • Crop: Use the cropping tool to crop the screenshot.

    • Edit: Edit the screenshot.

    • Set as: Set the screenshot as a Contact photo, Home screen wallpaper, Lock screen wallpaper, or for both the Home and lock screens.

    • Buddy photo share: Tag the screenshot for easy sharing with a contact.

    • Print: Print the screenshot using a Samsung printer.

    • Rename: Edit the name of the screenshot.

      1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery.  

      2. Touch Time and select Albums.

      3. Touch the Screenshots folder.

      4. Touch the desired screenshot.  

      5. When viewing the screenshot, the following options are available at the bottom of the screen:  

        • Share: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned ON.  

        •  Edit: Choose to Crop the photo, edit it using Photo Editor, or add it to a Collage.

        • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

      6. Touch MORE for the following options:  

        • Details: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.  

        • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

        • Set as contact picture: Set the screenshot as a contact photo.

        • Set as wallpaper: Set the screenshot as wallpaper.

        • Move to Private: Hides the image(s) when in Private mode.

      Scan for nearby devices: Scan for nearby DLNA-enabled devices to share the screenshot (feature must be turned on in Settings > More Settings > Nearby devices).

    • Details: View the technical details of the screenshot.
