Location Settings (GPS) Available on Your Galaxy Tab S
The Location settings allows you to choose how your device will determine your location.
The instructions below are only for devices with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Turn On Location Services
To access the Location settings, from the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Location.
Touch the off slider to turn Location on.
When prompted, review Improve location accuracy? message and touch AGREE to activate, otherwise touch DISAGREE.
Check mark Don't show again if you do not wish to see message again.
Manage Accuracy Level
From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Location.
Touch Mode to select your preferred locating method.
Choose from the following:
High accuracy: This option has the highest level of accuracy, using GPS and Wi-Fi interchangeably to estimate your location.
Power saving: This option uses only Wi-Fi to estimate your location.
GPS only: This option uses only the GPS network to estimate your location.
View Recent Location Requests
Your device will display any apps that have recently requested access to your location in the Recent location requests section.
Touch an application to access app information screen.
Scroll down to view the app's specific Permission groups.
Google Location History
Google Location History helps you get useful information. For example, automatic commute predictions, improved search results, and more useful ads on and off Google, by creating a private map of where you go with your logged-in devices.
Touch Google Location History. You will be prompted to sign-in to your Google Account if you have not already done so.
Touch the off slider to switch Google Location History on.
You may also touch DELETE LOCATION HISTORY to delete location history.
From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > DEVICE > Display.
Touch My Places.
Touch 1 to add a place, or select one of the three pre-defined places: Home, Work, or Car.
Enter a Name for the place. If you selected Home, Work, or Car, you cannot rename the location.
Touch Select method and select the feature you want to use to define this location. Choose Maps to define this location using GPS information. Choose Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to define this location by its connection to a Wi-Fi access point or Bluetooth device.
Follow the steps for the method you select. For Maps, you will need to search for your location or use the current GPS coordinates. For Wi-Fi, you will be asked to select the Wi-Fi access point. For Bluetooth, you will be asked to select the device from a list of available devices.
