Inserting or removing a MicroSD Card from Your Galaxy Tab S

Your device lets you use a microSD or microSDHC card to expand memory space. This secure digital card lets you exchange pictures, music, and data with SD compatible devices.

Insert a microSD Card

The microSD card slot is located on the right hand side (slot location may vary by device model type.

Insert a microSD Card

  1. Locate the  microSD card slot and open the microSD card slot cover on the side of your device.

  2. Insert the microSD card into the slot until it locks into place.

    Insert SD card label side up.

  3. Close the microSD card slot cover.



Mount a microSD Card

When you insert a memory card, it is automatically mounted (connected to the device) and prepared for use. However, should you unmount the card without removing it from the device, you will need to mount it before it can be accessed.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Settings.

  2. Touch GENERAL > Storage.

  3. Scroll to and touch Mount SD card.

  4. Touch OK to mount the SD card.

Remove a microSD Card

To prevent damage to information stored on the memory card, always unmount the card before removing it from the device.

Unmounting an SD card may stop some apps from functioning until you mount the SD card again.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Setting.

  2. Touch GENERAL > Storage.

  3. Touch Unmount SD card.

  4. Touch OK to unmount the SD card. 

  5. Open the microSD card slot cover on the side of your device and gently press on the microSD card to release it, and then carefully remove it from your device.
