Clearing the App Cache/Data on Your Samsung Galaxy J3

If an app on your device is not responding, you can clear the temporary files from the app cache to free up memory. If the app remains unresponsive, or if there is an app you want to reset to factory settings without uninstalling it, you can clear the app data. Clearing app data can also free up memory on your device.

Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.  

Clear App Cache

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps. 

  2. Navigate to Settings > Applications > Application manager.

  3. Swipe to the ALL tab.

  4. Touch the app whose cache you want to clear.

  5. Scroll to and touch CLEAR CACHE.

Clear App Data

Clearing app data will reset the app to default settings. All user preferences and personal settings, such as bookmarks and saved passwords, will be deleted.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps. 

  2. Navigate to Settings > Applications > Application manager.

  3. Swipe to the ALL tab.

  4. Touch the app whose data you want to clear.

  5. Touch CLEAR DATA.

  6. Review the information about deleting the app data and then touch CLEAR.
