Setting up your 2015 4K UHD TV (UN**JU*)

Getting a new TV is exciting, but first you have to set it up. This guide can help you get through the initial setup so you can start enjoying your new TV!

Follow the steps below to set up your UHD TV. Depending on the devices you want to connect to your TV some of the steps may vary.

Select Your Language

Before beginning your setup decide whether you are using a Set-Top box or an Antenna for your TV Signal.

The first step when setting up your TV is selecting the language you would like use. Use the arrow buttons on your Samsung TV remote to select a language and press Enter.

The Next step in the Setup process is to choose what type of network you would like to use. Wired or Wireless

If you would like to skip the network setup, press the right arrow on your remote to select the arrow in the top right corner of your screen and press Enter.

Select Your Network

Wired Connection

If you are using a wired connection continue with the steps below:

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the back of the TV or the One Connect Box.  

  2. Your TV will attempt to connect to your network and then access the Samsung servers.  

    • If there is no issue with the network connection you will see the following screen:  

    • If there is a Network connection issue the Network Status window will appear.

      If you can't resolve the network issue, please contact us.

  3. To be able to use many of the different Smart Features built into your TV you will have to accept the Smart Hub Terms, Conditions, & Privacy Policy. Select I agree to all if you agree to all of the terms and conditions listed then navigate to OK and press Enter.  

    If you do not consent to the Terms, Conditions, & Privacy Policy you will not be able to use applications and some of the Smart Features on your TV.

Wireless Connection

If you are using a wireless connection continue with the steps below:

  1. The TV searches for wireless networks near the TV. Once complete the TV will display found networks. Select your network.  

  2. Next you will need to enter the password to connect to the network you selected. Use the arrow buttons to highlight the characters in your password and then press Enter to select each one.  

    Be sure to highlight Done after you have entered the last character of your password. Then press Enter.

  3. Your TV will attempt to connect to your network and access the Samsung servers.

    • If there is no issue with the network connection you will see the following screen:  

    • If there is a Network connection issue the Network Status window will appear.

    • If you can't resolve the network issue, please contact us.

  4. To be able to use many of the different Smart Features built into your TV you will need to accept the Smart Hub Terms, Conditions, & Privacy Policy. Select "I agree to all" after you read and agree with the terms and policies, then navigate to OK and press Enter.  

  5. If you do not consent to the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy you will not be able to use applications and some of the Smart Features on your TV.

Select Your Signal

The next step in the Initial Setup is to select the source of your live TV signal.

  • STB (Satellite or Cable Box): Select this option if you use a Satellite or Cable box that connects via HDMI, Component, or Composite.

  • Antenna: Select this option if you use an Over the Air Antenna or a Direct Cable Line.

  • No TV (display only): Select this option if you aren't going to connect a Live TV source, and just want to use apps and external devices.  

STB (Satellite or Cable Box)

Follow these steps to set up the STB connection:

  1. Use the arrow buttons to select STB (Satellite or Cable Box).  

  2. Enter your Zip Code to search for service providers in your area. Select your Service provider from the list that appears.  

  3. If you do not see your provider select "My service provider is not listed". You will not be able to use the built-in guide if you select this option.

  4. Next you can set up the universal remote function with the Smart Control remote. Make sure there is nothing blocking the IR receiver of the device you want to control and select OK to continue.  

  5. You cannot use the Universal remote feature if you have the standard IR remote.

  6. Follow the on-screen steps to finish setting up the universal remote function. When this is done, you have successfully completed the setup.

  7. If you are having trouble setting up the Universal Remote function, please contact us.

Antenna (Over the Air or Direct Line) Connection

Follow these steps to set up your channels through an Antenna connection:

  1. Use the arrow buttons on your Samsung remote to select Antenna.  

  2. The TV searches for Antenna and Cable channels available through the Coax connection. This process can take up to 20 minutes. When the Auto Program is done scanning for channels. Select Next and the on-screen guide will continue.  

  3. Selecting Scan Again will restart the Auto programming process.

  4. You have completed the Initial setup. Select Done to start using the TV, or Smart Interaction Tutorial to learn about the Smart Features on the TV.  

No TV (Display Only)

If you aren't connecting any form of live TV and just want to connect external devices like game consoles, or enjoy the apps on your TV select this option and your setup is complete.
