Verifying a Payment Card in Samsung Pay on Gear S2 Beta

Verify a Payment Card
You may be asked for additional information when adding a payment card in Samsung Pay. This additional information or a one-time password (OTP) is required by some card networks (i.e., Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) and card issuers (e.g., Bank of America, Citibank, or U.S. Bank) as an added layer of security for verifying your identity.
During the process of adding your payment card, you will be prompted to verify your identity using an OTP. If you opt to verify later, your payment card will display a notice instructing you to verify the card.
To verify a payment card:
- On your mobile device, from the Home screen, touch the Apps icon.
- Touch the Gear icon.
- Touch Samsung Pay Beta.
- Touch Verify card.
- Touch VERIFY.
- Select a method to authenticate your identity using a one-time password (OTP). Methods may vary depending on the type of card you are using.
- Enter the OTP and touch SUBMIT.
- Touch DONE to complete the process.
After your card is added to Samsung Pay, it will be verified by the payment card network and the card issuer. On average, verification will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes. During that time, you will be unable to use your card in Samsung Pay. After the card is verified, it can be used immediately to make a purchase.
