Using Smart Manager on Your Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Smart Manager lets you manage your device's battery life, storage, and RAM usage all in one place. You can easily access Smart Manager using the app shortcut or the Home screen widget.

Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Manage Battery Life

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Smart Manager.

  3. Touch Battery.

  4. The Battery screen displays the percentage of battery power remaining and how long you might expect that power to last.

    The following settings are available:

    • Touch BATTERY USAGE to see which processes have been running since your device was last fully charged.

    • Touch Power saving mode or Ultra power saving mode to set your device to conserve battery power.

    • Touch DETAIL to view apps that have used an abnormal amount of battery power while the screen has been turned off.

    • Touch the slider off next to Percentage on status bar to turn it on or off.

    • Touch the slider next to Fast cable charging to turn it on or off.

Manage Storage

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Smart Manager.

  3. Touch Storage.

  4. Touch ALLOW to permit Smart Manager to access the photos, videos, and other files on your device.

  5. Review the information about your device's used and available system storage.

    The following settings are available:

    • Touch DETAIL next to the chart for a more detailed breakdown of your device's available internal storage.

    • Touch DELETE to delete unnecessary data stored on your device. 

    • Touch DETAIL under User data to view and delete unused files and apps on your device.

Manage RAM

RAM is the memory location your device temporarily loads information into when executing an app or using other device functions. If the RAM status indicator is full, clearing the RAM on your device will improve your device's performance.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Smart Manager.

  3. Touch RAM.

  4. The RAM screen displays the percentage of RAM remaining and which Background apps are currently using RAM. Touch END to close a single app, or touch END ALL to close all running apps. You should save any information you need before closing each app.

Add the Smart Manager Widget

With the Smart Manager widget, you can quickly manage your device's storage and RAM.

If the Smart Manager widget is not already on any of your Home screens:

  1. Touch and hold a Home screen, and then touch Widgets at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Touch and hold the Smart Manager widget.

  3. Position the widget on an available screen and release it. Touch Back to exit the edit mode.

  4. You now have easy access to the Smart Manager app through the Smart Manager widget.
