What Location Settings (GPS) Are Available on My Samsung Galaxy S6 Active? (SM-G890A)

The Location settings let you choose how your mobile device will determine your location.

Turn On/Off Location Services

From the Settings

1. Navigate to Apps > Settings > PERSONAL > Privacy and safety.

2. Touch Location.

3. To turn on/off the Location, touch the slider.

   

From the Notification Panel

1. To access the Notification Panel, swipe down form the top of the screen.

2. To turn on/off the Location, touch Location.

Manage Accuracy Level

1. Navigate to Apps > Settings > PERSONAL > Privacy and safety.

2. Touch Location.

3. Touch Locating method.

4. Select from the following options:

  • GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks: This option has the highest level of accuracy, using GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile data networks interchangeably to estimate your location. Data charges may apply when using this option.
  • Wi-Fi and mobile networks: This option uses only Wi-Fi and mobile data networks to estimate your location. Data charges may apply when using this option.
  • GPS only: This option uses only the GPS network to estimate your location.
