How do I assign or delete a contact from a caller group on my Samsung Convoy 4?

You can assign contacts to groups to organize your contacts list or to quickly send messages to group members.

Create a Group

    In addition to default groups (Business, Colleague, Family, and Friends), you can create other groups.

  1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.

  2. Use the Directional key to highlight Contacts and press the OK key.

  3. Use the Directional key to highlight Groups and press the OK key.

  4. Press the Left soft key to create a new group.

  5. Use the keypad to enter a group name and press the OK key.

Add Contacts to a Group

You can also assign a contact to a group when you add or edit a contact.

  1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.

  2. Use the Directional key to highlight Contacts  and press the OK key.

  3. Use the Directional key to highlight Groups and press the OK key.

  4. Use the Directional key to highlight the group you're adding members to and press the Right soft key.

  5. Use the Directional key to highlight Add and press the OK key.

  6. Use the Directional key to highlight contacts, and press the OK key to mark contacts.

    Once you have selected a name, the contact's phone number will display in place of the name.

  7. Press the Left soft key when you are finished.

Change a Contact's Group Assignment

  1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.

  2. Use the Directional key to highlight Contacts and press the OK key.

  3. Use the Directional key to highlight Contact List and press the OK key.

  4. Use the Directional key to highlight the contact you want to edit and press the Left soft key.

  5. Use the Directional key to highlight Group and press the Left soft key.

  6. Use the Directional key to highlight the group(s) you want to remove or add, and then press the OK key.

    You can assign multiple groups to a single contact.

  7. Press the Left soft key when you are finished.

  8. Press the OK  key to save the changes.

Send a Message to Group Members

Messaging availability varies when roaming outside your wireless service provider's network.

    You can send a message to all members of a group at once, or you can send to just specific members of the group.

  1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.

  2. Use the Directional key to highlight Contacts and press the OK key.

  3. Use the Directional key to highlight Groups and press the OK key.

  4. Use the Directional key to highlight the group you want to send a message to, and then press the Right soft key.

  5. Press the OK key.

  6. Use the Directional key to highlight contacts, and press the OK  key to mark contacts you want to send a message.

Delete a Group

  1. From the Home screen, press the OK key.

  2. Use the Directional key to highlight Contacts and press the OK key.

  3. Use the Directional key to highlight Groups and press the OK key.

  4. Use the Directional key to highlight the group you want to delete and press the Right soft key.

  5. Use the Directional key to highlight Erase Group and press the OK key.

    Deleting a group does not delete any saved contacts from your device. Former group members remain available in the Contact List.

  6. Press the OK key.
