Using Your Electric Cooktop (NZ30K6330 & NZ36K6430)

Hot Surface Indicator

  • Lights up when the unit is turned on or hot to the touch.

        

  • Stays on even after the unit is turned off.

        

  • Glows until the unit cools to approximately 150 °F.

Cooking Area

  

  • The cooking areas on your cooktop are identified by permanent circles on the glass cooking surface. For the most efficient cooking, fit the pan size to the element size.

        

  • Pans should not extend more than ½ ̋ to 1 ̋ beyond the cooking area.

        

  • When a control is turned on, you can see a glow through the glass cooking surface. To maintain the preset heat setting, the element will cycle on and off, even at high settings.

Initial Cleaning

Wipe the ceramic glass surface with a damp cloth and ceramic cooktop glass cleaner.

To prevent damaging the surface, do not use caustic or abrasive cleaners. You can damage the surface.

  

Setting the Appliance for Surface Cooking

• The surface elements may be hot even when off and burns can occur. Do not touch the surface elements until they have cooled down sufficiently.
• At high or medium-high settings, never leave food unattended. Boil overs cause smoking and greasy spillovers may catch on fire.
• Be sure you turn the control knob to OFF when you finish cooking.

Single Surface Unit Control Knob

  1. Select the corresponding single surface unit cooking zone. For this example, locate the left rear knob.

      

      

  2. To control the chosen surface, push the knob in.

      

      

  3. To the set the stove to the preferred setting, turn in either direction.

      

      

Dual Surface Unit Control Knob

The dual surface unit features an inner and outer element. You can select 1 or 2 elements (Single or Dual) depending on the size of the pot or pan you are using. A single circle icon indicates the single power zone, and a double circle indicates dual power.

  1. Select the corresponding dual surface unit cooking zone. For this example, locate the right front knob.

      

      

  2. To control the chosen surface, push the knob in.

      

      

  3. Dual surface units also include single surface settings. To use the single surface unit, turn the control knob to the single element setting.

    The single power zone is indicated by a single circle to the left of the knob.

      

      

  4. To use the dual surface unit, turn the control knob to the dual element setting.

    The dual power zone is indicated by a double circle to the right of the knob.

      

       

Triple Surface Until Control Knob (only for NZ95K7430)

The triple surface unit features 3 elements. You can select 1,2 or 3 elements depending on the size of the pot or pan you are using. The single circle indicates the single power zone, the double circle indicates the dual power zone, and the triple circle indicates the triple power zone.

  1. Select the corresponding triple surface unit cooking zone. For this example, locate the rear center knob.

      

      

  2. To control the chosen surface, push the knob in.

      

      

  3. Triple surface units also include single and dual surface settings. To use the single surface unit, turn the control knob to the single element setting.

    The single power zone is indicated by a single circle.

      

      

  4. To use the dual surface unit, turn the control knob to the dual element setting.

    The dual power zone is indicated by a double circle.

      

      

  5. To use the triple surface unit, turn the control knob to the triple element setting.

    The triple power zone is indicated by a triple circle.
