2016 Smart TV Terms & Conditions Issue

A recent firmware file was inadvertently sent to some Samsung televisions that has caused the Smart TV functionality to perform erratically and not as designed. We have not changed our terms and conditions for our Smart TVs. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.

 

A firmware update is now available and you should see an update notice within 20 minutes of turning on your TV.  If you have not received the firmware update turn your TV off, wait approximately 20 minutes for the update to download and then turn the TV back on again. The TV should now be on the latest firmware version.

The Home Button on the Smart Control doesn’t work, why?

  • You do not have to agree to receive Internet Based Advertisements. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience. A firmware update is now available and you should see an update notice within 20 minutes of turning on your TV. If you have not received the firmware update turn your TV off, wait approximately 20 minutes for the update to download and then turn the TV back on again. The TV should now be on the latest firmware version.

Do I have to sign in to a Samsung Account when I am setting up my TV for the first time?

  • Even though it says that you must sign in to use Smart TV Features, you can skip this step and still have access to Smart TV features on your TV.
