Change Language and Input Settings on Your Phone

If you're billingual or studying a new language, your Galaxy phone can become your very own language portal. You can set multiple languages on your phone and even set a different default language. It's great for practicing your language skills or just using the language you're most comfortable with.

Available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Add and Remove Languages

You're trying to learn Spanish, but you aren't quite there yet. Add it as a language on your phone, so you can practice reading and writing in it. Don't worry, you can still use English - that's the beauty of adding multiple languages.

From Settings, search for and select Language. Touch Add language, and then select the desired language. If you don't see the language you are looking for, touch More Options, and then touch All languages

To delete languages, from Settings, search for and select Language. Touch DELETE, and then choose the language you want to remove. Touch DELETE, and then confirm by touching OK.

Change the Default Language

Your hard work has paid off - you're finally fluent in the language you've been studying. Change the default language on your phone to the new language so you can get even better.

From Settings, search for and select Language. Touch and hold the language you want to be your default language. Drag your desired language to top of the list. Touch DONE to set the language as your phone's default language.
