Format the MicroSD Card on Your Galaxy J3 and J7

To add additional memory space to your device, you can use a microSD Card (not included). Galaxy J3 and J7 supports up to 256GB expandable memory storage. Learn how to move apps to your microSD card.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Format a microSD Card

To prevent data loss, back up your stored music and photo files when formatting an SD card.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Storage.

  3. Touch More Options.  

  4. Touch Storage settings.  

  5. Touch SD card.  

  6. Touch Format.   

  7. Touch FORMAT.
