Load Your WaterWall Dishwasher

Believe it or not, there is a correct way to load your dishwasher. Learn how to load your Lower, Upper, and 3rd rack properly for a spotless wash.

Loading Your Dishwasher

Loading the Lower Rack

The Lower Rack is designed for large items such as dinner dishes, plates, pots and pans. When loading plates, make sure there is enough space between the plates for water to penetrate. Any dishes that can hold water should be loaded upside down.

Loading the Upper Rack

The Upper Rack has been designed for small plates, mugs, glasses, and dishwasher safe plastic items. When loading the dishes, pull the Upper Rack out sufficiently and start loading so there are spaces in between the dishes.  Avoid double stacking plates as it can restrict water flow.

Make sure the loaded dishes do not interfere with the rotation of the nozzle which is located at the bottom of the upper rack. Check this by rotating the nozzle before running the dishwasher.

Using the 3rd Rack with FlexTray (DW80M9990 & DW80M9960)

The top dishwasher rack is called the 3rd Rack. It is designed for washing silverware. You can even remove it to make space for taller items in the rack below it.

The FlexTray is the blue flexible pad inside of the 3rd Rack. It makes loading and unloading silverware much easier. When the silverware is dry or ready to be put away, just grab the handles to pick it up all at once.

For heavily soiled utensils, use the Cutlery Basket in the Lower Rack. Place each knife, spoon, or fork separately into the placement stands.

Using the Cutlery Caddy (DW80M9550 Only)

The Cutlery Caddy is a silverware basket located on the left side of the Upper Rack. Use this to hold oversized utensils such as spatulas, serving spoons, and similar items. If you want to remove the Caddy, hold the Upper Rack and one end of the Caddy before lifting it up.

Using the Glass Support

You can load cups or glasses onto the glass support. This is also very convenient for washing wine glasses. Hang your wine glasses on the pegs of the glass support. You can fold the glass support back when it is not being used.
