Clear App Cache and Data on Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+

Having trouble with unresponsive apps? Hit refresh by clearing the app data and cache. You'll also free up memory space on your phone. By using this function, you do not have to uninstall an app or reset your phone to factory settings.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Clear App Cache

By clearing the app's cache, you can free up space on your phone. More space = faster performance and plenty of room for new apps. Also, if you have apps you no longer use, learn how to Uninstall or Disable an App.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Apps.

  3. Touch the app you want to clear.

  4. Touch Storage.

  5. Touch CLEAR CACHE.

Clear App Data

If you want a complete do-over, empty out all your app data. The app will be reset to factory default settings.

Any saved personal settings for the app will be removed.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch Search, then search for and select Apps.

  3. Touch the app you want to reset.

  4. Touch Storage.

  5. Touch CLEAR DATA.

  6. Touch DELETE.
