Back Up and Restore Galaxy S6 Active Using Your Google Account

Back up your S6 Active to a Google account just in case you ever lose or damage your phone, and need to restore important data. And if you need help adding a Google account, check out Add a Google Account.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Back up and Restore Using Your Google Account

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.   

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Backup and restore.

  3. Touch Backup account.  

  4. Touch the account you want to back up.  

  5. You will be prompted to log into your Google account if you have not signed into your Google account previously.   

    Make sure you have an existing Google account. If not, create a new Google account following the on-screen prompt.

  6. To restore application data automatically when the app is reinstalled, make sure the Automatic restore feature has been turned on.
