Monitor and Extend the Battery Life for Your Galaxy Tab A

Forgot to charge your tablet the night before and now low on battery? Don't fret, with the Galaxy Tab A's ability to use the remaining battery life efficiently, your Galaxy Tab A won't die without a fight. You can also check which apps drain your battery and monitor how your battery is being used.

Monitor Battery Life

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Battery.  

  3. Touch BATTERY USAGE.  

  4. The estimated past and predicted usage times are displayed. The last full charge and the estimated usage time remaining will also be displayed.  

Power Saving Mode

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings.  

  2. Touch Search, and then search for and select Battery.  

  3. To extend your battery life, select the desired mode. For this example, touch MAX.  

  4. Touch APPLY.  

  5. To turn off the feature, touch More Options.  

  6. Touch Turn off Maximum power saving mode.  

Battery Basics

Ways to charge your battery properly and safely:

  • To charge your tablet, use only the supplied Samsung USB/charging cables and avoid third-party accessories.

  • Ensure the USB/charging cable is connected securely and is not being blocked by your tablet cover or case.

  • Make sure the battery or charging indicator appears on the tablet's display when the USB/charging cable is connected.

  • Use the outlet on your wall instead of your computer.

  • Disconnect the tablet from the USB/charging cable after the battery is fully charged.
