Disable Auto Update Apps on Your Galaxy Tab A (New)

By default, most downloaded apps are automatically updated when a new update is available. If you want to review the updates and any new permissions associated with the updates, you can choose to disable automatic updates. To learn how to disable auto updates on your tablet, follow the steps below.

Disable Auto Update for All Apps

If you want total control over when your phone receives updates, you can disable auto update for all your apps. That way, you get to review updates before choosing to install them.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Play Store.  

  2. Touch Menu.  

  3. Swipe to and touch Settings.  

  4. Touch Auto-update apps.  

  5. Choose Do not auto-update apps.  

Disable Auto Update for Specific Apps

Maybe there are only a few apps you want to prevent from being automatically updated. You can disable auto update for any apps you want. Just follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Play Store.  

  2. Touch Menu.  

  3. Touch My apps & games.   

  4. Select an app and then touch More Options.  

  5. Deselect Auto-update.
