SIM and MicroSD Cards in Galaxy J3 and J7 2018

Although J3 and J7 (2018) have similar names and features, their main difference is their card trays. On both phones, this card slot holds your SIM and microSD cards, but they are set up a little differently. The J7 has a new slide-out tray on the side of the phone, whereas the J3's tray is behind the phone's back cover. Knowing how to properly insert and remove these trays is super important because they are essential to your phone. SIM cards give you access to your wireless service provider's mobile data network and MicroSD cards allow you to expand the storage on your phone. In other words, you definitely don't want to mess them up.

SIM cards are provided by your carrier or retailer where you purchased the phone.

MicroSD cards are optional and must be purchased separately.

Since the SIM and MicroSD card are behind the phone's cover on the J3, you'll need to be extra delicate and intricate when inserting them. But don't worry, it's really easy to do.

First, power off your phone and look for the opening in the upper right of your phone's back. Then, use your finger to carefully pry off the cover from the back of the phone. Then, remove the battery.

Next, carefully slide the SIM card into the SIM card slot, underneath the microSD slot. Make sure that the SIM card’s gold contacts are face down and that the card's indent is on the left side, facing toward the phone.

Finally, slide the microSD into the slot above the SIM card. Also, make sure the gold contacts are facing down. Replace the battery, close the cover and snap all its sides back into place until they are flush against the phone. Congrats, you did it!
