Use a Ring Doorbell Pro with your Samsung smart TV

Man looking at smart TV with Ring Doorbell live feed

The Ring Doorbell Pro can send a live video feed of your front door right to your Samsung smart TV! This lets you keep an eye on things just in case someone is coming over or you’re expecting a package to be delivered. Just connect the Ring Doorbell Pro to both the Ring app and the SmartThings app on your phone, and then choose how to control it from your TV.

Compatibility

Note: The Ring Doorbell and Ring Doorbell 2 are not compatible with live video feeds. You will need to use the Ring Doorbell Pro.

Troubleshooting

Review the troubleshooting tips below if you encounter issues when connecting your Ring Doorbell Pro to your TV. You can also visit the Ring Support page for more information on your Ring Doorbell Pro.

  • You must have a Ring app account in order to add your Ring Doorbell Pro to the SmartThings app. You can create an account in the Ring app.

  • Make sure you are using the Ring Doorbell Pro. The Ring Doorbell and Ring Doorbell 2 are not compatible with video streaming on a Samsung TV.

  • If you can’t see the Ring Doorbell Pro’s video feed on your TV, check if you can see it using the Ring app on your phone. If you can’t see it in the Ring app, you will need to contact your ISP provider for more information. However, if you can see the video feed in the Ring app but not on the TV, check that you have enabled the Ring Alert and Motion Alert options in the SmartThings app on your TV. You can also try clearing your TV’s cache by pressing and holding the Standby key on your remote.
