Wash table linens in your Samsung washing machine

Cotton and linen tablecloths can be cared for using your washing machine and dryer. Below are some tips for washing these types of fabrics:

Cotton

• The standard wash cycle on your washing machine is perfectly fine for cotton. Use cold water throughout the cycle, for both washing and rinsing.
• You can use any standard laundry detergent with cotton.
• To ensure your cotton tablecloths and napkins don’t wrinkle or shrink, avoid using the dryer altogether. You can air-dry your cotton items outside on a clothesline or hang them on a drying rack.
• You can remove wrinkles with a clothing iron.

Linen

• The Normal cycle on your washing machine is ideal for linen. Use warm or cold water (never hot water) throughout the cycle, for both washing and rinsing. If possible, wash your linen tablecloths with other linen items.

• You can use any standard laundry detergent with linen.

• To dry linen items, use a low temperature setting on your dryer. Then, remove the items when they are still slightly damp and finish by air-drying them.

• You can remove wrinkles with a clothing iron once the linen is completely dry.

You may be nervous to break out some of your finer tablecloths, such as those made of satin or silk because they're delicate. But no worries, if your tablecloth gets stained, you can safely wash these fabrics in your Samsung washing machine without damaging them. For extra protection, you can place these items in a mesh laundry bag before adding them to your cycle.

Satin

• The Delicates wash cycle on your washing machine is ideal for satin. You can use warm water for the wash cycle and cool water for the rinse cycle.
• A mild laundry detergent is recommended to use with satin.
• Satin items can be added to your dryer on a low temperature setting. However, make sure you remove these items promptly from the dryer.
• It is not recommended to use a clothing iron on satin. If you need to remove wrinkles, place a towel over the satin first, and then use the steam function on your iron instead.

Silk

• The Delicates wash cycle on your washing machine is ideal for silk. You can use cool or lukewarm water throughout the wash and rinse cycles.
• A mild laundry detergent is best for silk.
• Use a no-heat setting on your dryer to dry silk items. If your dryer does not have this setting, you can gently squeeze the excess water from the fabric and then lay it flat to dry.
• To remove wrinkles, use a clothing iron on the underside of the fabric.

Whether you accidentally spill some gravy or fruit juice, there’s a way to get that annoying stain out of your table linens. Here are some tips for getting your tablecloths clean after a family meal:

• Most stains can be taken care of with a dab of laundry or dish detergent before you put the item in the wash. For best results, allow the detergent to sit for about fifteen minutes before washing.

• For greasy stains, such as gravy or butter, you can add 1 or 2 teaspoons of baking soda to your wash cycle. Simply add the baking soda into the washing machine along with your detergent.

• For wine, juice, or sauce stains that are still wet, you can soak up the excess moisture by sprinkling baking soda, talcum powder, or cornstarch onto the fabric. Once most of the liquid is absorbed, you can dab the remaining stain with a small amount of detergent.

• For stubborn pieces of dried food or liquid that are stuck to the linen, you can use a kitchen knife or plastic knife to carefully scrape off the stain. Then, dab a small amount of detergent on the spot to remove any remaining stains.

• To remove candle wax, you can place a small piece of paper towel over the stain, and then apply a hot clothing iron on top of the paper. After a few passes with the iron, the wax will lift and stick to the paper. Remove the paper, check the fabric, and then repeat the process if necessary. 

• Using bleach is not recommended unless the item is entirely white and you are also adding the item to a cycle filled with other white items. Use bleach as a last resort if the above tips and tricks do not work.
