Blu-ray home theater system will not turn on
When your Blu-ray home theater system won't turn on, the most common reason is due to lack of power. This is typically related to the outlet or power strip you're using. You also want to make sure the issue is not with your remote control.
Blu-ray home theater system will not turn on
1
Check if the Blu-ray player is receiving power.
Just because your TV isn't playing anything doesn't mean the Blu-ray player or home theater system isn't turning on.
Look at the top right of the Blu-ray player. On the button panel, an LED light will display above the Power button when the Blu-ray player is turned on. Home theater systems also show the current status on their display when turned on, such as HDMI 1 or No Disc.
If your Blu-ray player or home theater system is turned on but is not showing a picture, see our guide for further troubleshooting.
2
Check the power outlet.
Unplug the home theater system from any power strips or extension cords and then plug it into an outlet you know works. An easy way to test outlets is with something else, like a lamp.
3
Switch the remote's mode.
If you can't turn on the home theater system with your remote control, your remote may be in the wrong mode. Press BD on the remote to set the player to Blu-ray DVD mode (BD mode). Then, press Power. If it still does not turn on your Blu-ray player, replace the batteries and try this step again.
4
Set up service.
If issues continue after following the steps listed above, visit the Samsung support center to request service.
