This one is only a slight upgrade, though. Camera etc are much the same. The more powerful chip is noticeable when in use. My biggest issue is battery. It didn't need to be slimmer and lighter, because it was already a compact size. It needed a bigger capacity battery, that doesn't run so hot. This thing gets insanely hot if, say, you are running android auto with sat nav going. To the point where the phone shuts down. Not good, during a long car journey to somewhere you don't know. So, this has not changed from the 7. I was hoping it would. Everything else is good.

The hinge was never a problem on my 5, and it seems to be even smoother on this one, and no screen creased yet, although, that never really bothered me anyway. I have recently discovered "Bixby" as well. I always knew it was a thing on my old phone, but never used it, as I thought, well, if I have Google, why do I need Bixby?? It is SO GOOD! The full back display and cameras being on the same surface allows for photography moments that no other smartphone series does. The Z Flip8 feels lighter and yet more durable than it's predecessors and after double checking right now... The main screen 'crease' is nowhere to be seen. The only place where the phone feels lacking is it's battery performance. It's not bad by any means but is also nothing to write home about and will need a charge before the day is up as well as overnight. Genuinely a fun and functional flip phone - would recommend!

I've never had any issues with the creases in either of my flips. Once you have a good case on it, there shouldn't be any reason why it should break or get damaged! I have marked it down a star as it does feel a lot bigger than the flip 6, my personal preference is for it to feel more compact. Whilst it is thinner, it does feel a lot wider, especially with a case on.

The 8 is lighter, wider, crisper and has a much more seamless folding bezel with a satisfying, audible and soft close. Aside from the obvious benefits to upgrading from an older generation (battery life, bigger and better quality display), the flip8 feels like a more thought-out, premium device, as the hardware no longer has the tempered glass that made the flip3 feel slippery and fragile, and has a vastly improved IP rating of IP48, where the 3's IPX8 rating meant the screen is now lost to peeling from the protective film and scratches. The fold crease is also much more subtle. Overall, I'm very happy with my choice, and look forward to properly saying goodbye to the 3 once retailers start selling Flip8 cases and the screen protector comes back in stock!

The flip 8 is thinner , lighter and has more options on the cover screen than the flip 7. I find that the crease is even less noticiable and the hinge seems nice and tight. The display is crisp and i love the AI wallpaper options as i can just describe the pic i want and it appears! I am sure i will find more things i love about this phone. The main reason i love a samsung flip phone is because you can easily slip it in a pocket or a small handbag. Originally I was regretting my life choices as I've always been used to a "normal" phone which I could get a case that incorporates a wallet section for a couple of cards. I didn't think I could get such a case for this device but I did and that actually made a huge difference. I also thought to begin with that the battery life was terrible, but after my second charge and turning off App notifications which weren't normally on, the battery life improved considerably. The Flip 8 is far more responsive than my previous phone and it seems to run really smoothly. There's also a lot of improvements since my last Samsung phone and for someone who is no longer tech savvy, I found it easy to set up and organise. And on heart, I'm beginning to fall in love with my Samsung Flip 8 ❤️

It is extremely handy for handbag or pocket. Both displays are plenty large enough for me and the fact you can do a lot without even opening the phone is great. The hinge appears durable whilst it appears a little easier to open compared to the Flip 7. The Flip 8 is responsive and fast, I have not noticed any delay in operation. I love, love the pink colour. It is annoying the pink case was not available to order when I pre-ordered the phone, which meant I had to buy the plastic case as a stop-gap until the pink arrives in stock... I just had an email saying it is now in stock, but delivery will be September? IIRC There was the same issue last year with the blue case (Samsung please note, get the cases ready for release or pre-order when the phones are). Anyway, as always I am very happy with all aspects of the Flip 8 as I have been with all Flips.

The cover screen, I would have thought, would be more like a second screen that I can set up any way like, but it seems that we are limited to putting widgets on each page, and they are limited to the 2x2 and 2x4 size, rather than being able to have a full size widget. When I get a notification on the cover screen and tap to reply I get told to open the phone, why can't I just reply direct from the cover screen like I could on my flip5. The whole point of the bigger cover screen was that you can use that instead of opening phone all the time but seems like that thought went out the window. The tips app is also a little useless as it tells you what you can do but not how to do it and the settings in the phones now days are not simple and straight forward to just follow the promts as such.

The battery so far has lasted me through the day and because of the different hinge the crease is not as noticeable as on the flip4. It's very responsive but as I had the phone for a short period of time so far I do not have an opinion on the durability but hopefully it does well.

The battery holds a charge all day, the crease is almost gone, which didn't bother me anyway. But its size is still the most important thing for me, if you need to consume data on a larger device, then buy a tablet, phones should fit in your pocket.

The Z Flip 8 is wider and feels much better. The screen quality is better and the crease is very much diminished since Z Flip 6. The overall experience is much improved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before this z flip 8 I had a z flip 6 and must admit it was the best phone, I still have & works well after 3 years so I held on to it as a “ just in case I’m going to need it” phone. So had the phone nearly a week now, the battery is brilliant but it will be as it’s new, up to now in a week I have only charged it up twice. There are no shadows in the crease and completely immaculate. When I use the phone it’s very quick to use when on any application platforms it’s was easy too and transferring over from ex phone to was very easy and ran so smoothly, the hinges are great however I have just bought a case for it and have found it does not quite fit the screen well and it does the previous phones and also on the cover screen I have applied photos on there which will alternate although when I do look at my mail screen from time to time it does show up blank, however that may be a “ me” problem. Overall it is a great phone its durable and I cannot stop being a kid around it. I adore these flip phones from Samsung
