When the fridge/ freezer cooling is not enough?
There are several reasons why your Samsung refrigerator is not cooling. Some problems you can fix yourself, while others may require a technician to diagnose and repair.
Reasons and solutions for no cooling issue
- Make sure the door is closed properly.
- The refrigerator is overloaded
- Do not overload the refrigerator/ freezer. The recommended amount is 70% of the full capacity of the refrigerator.
- Arranging the food inside will help cold air circulate well.
- Set the temperature to a lower level.
- Activate power freeze/power cool function.
The minimum required space between the wall and the refrigerator is one inch. Move the refrigerator so that the back of the appliance is further from the wall.
Deactivate the child / control lock if it's activated, none of the functions will work.
If the unit is in demo mode, the display will show OF-OF. This feature will disable the compressor in order to save electricity when the refrigerator is in the showroom.
- Turning off the Demo mode may require a different combination of display buttons in each model, but generally it will require pressing the Energy Saver and Power FREEZER / FREEZER buttons for 3 seconds to cancel this mode. You will hear a chime.
Re-locate the refrigerator if possible
Check refrigerator's door seals
The seals around your refrigerator and freezer doors help keep cold air in. If the seals are leaking, Take some time to clean and inspect the door seals. If they are torn, warped, or worn, replace them immediately. You’ll not only keep your refrigerator from freezing food, but you'll also save energy because the compressor will work harder to maintain a constant temperature.
Recommended temperature for the refrigerator
Freezer temperature
- Set the desired temperature between -15 °C and -23 °C by pressing the -Freezer button.
Fridge temperature
- Set the desired temperature between 1°C and 7°C by pressing the Fridge button.
Note:
- To be able to change the temperature, you should deactivate the Child/control lock function on the display.
- The power freeze/power cool function will be turned off automatically after few hours.
