Inserting the SIM card

Your Galaxy Fold includes an eSIM that functions as a SIM card. You can use the mobile network after activating the eSIM or installing a nano-SIM card.

You can both activate the eSIM and install a nano-SIM card so you can have two phone numbers or service providers for a single device. In some areas, data transfer speeds may be slower if two SIM cards are inserted in the device than when one SIM card is inserted. For more information on activating the eSIM check out our page Activating the eSim on the Galaxy Fold.

Installing the nano-SIM card
1 Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the SIM card tray to loosen the tray.

Ensure that the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the yoour Galaxy Fold may be damaged.

2 Pull out the SIM card tray gently from the SIM card tray slot.
3 Place the nano-SIM card on the SIM card tray with the gold-coloured contacts facingdownwards.
4 Gently press the nano-SIM card into the SIM card tray to secure it.

If the card is not fixed firmly into the tray, the SIM card may leave or fall out of the tray.

5 Insert the SIM card tray back into the SIM card tray slot.

  • If you insert the tray into your device while the tray is wet, your device may be damaged. Always make sure the tray is dry.
  • Fully insert the tray into the tray slot to prevent liquid from entering your device.
