How to Safely remove a stuck Galaxy Ring
It's normal for fingers to swell and change size, which can sometimes make your Galaxy Ring difficult to remove. If your ring feels stuck, there are several safe techniques you can try at home. And if it still won't come off, professional help is always an option. Follow the below steps for more information.
Try Soap and Water
Wet your finger with cool water and apply a small amount of soap. Gently twist and slide the ring as you turn it around your finger. Once removed, rinse both your finger and the ring with clean water, then dry with a soft cloth.
Cool your Finger in Cold Water
If you finger is swollen, place it in cold water for a few minutes to help reduce the swelling. Once the swelling has gone down, carefully slide the ring off and dry your hand. Avoid putting the ring on until the swelling has fully subsided.
Raise your Hand above Heart Level
Hold your hand above your heart level and keep it elevated for several minutes. This can help bring down swelling, making it easier to remove the ring. Wait until the swelling is gone before wearing it again.
Emergency: Seek Professional Help
Important:
If you are unable to remove your Galaxy Ring using the above methods, do not attempt to cut it off yourself. The ring contains an electronic component and battery, which poses as a safety risk if damaged. Cutting it should be performed by a professional using the correct methods to avoid injury or battery damage.
Follow these instructions only in an emergency and done by a professional:
1. Locate the Orientation Mark
Find the small indicator mark on the outside of the ring. This shows the safe cutting area away from the internal battery.
2. Make the initial cut
Using a ring cutter or appropriate tool (like raptor shears or nippers), carefully cut along the orientation mark.
3. Widen the Gap
Once the ring is cut, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap and gently twist to widen the opening. This should allow for safe removal from the finger.
4. If needed, make a second cut
If the ring still can't be removed, make a second cut approximately 1 cm to the left or right of the original cute - but only in the safe zone away from the battery, as shown in the diagram.
Note If the Galaxy Ring is cut off, the Ring cannot be repaired or returned to usable state.
