Update the Firmware on your Samsung Soundbar

Learn how to update the firmware of your Samsung Soundbar to enjoy all the latest improvements. If an update is available, you can update your soundbar via the SmartThings app and enable auto-update. You can also update the soundbar by downloading a new, available update in your soundbar model's support page onto a USB and uploading it to your soundbar.

1 Ensure that you have connected your soundbar to the SmartThings app
2 Then follow the steps below on your mobile device:

1. Open the SmartThings App

2. Locate and tap into your connected soundbar's tile

3. Select the 3 dots on the top right

4. Choose Information

5. Then select Firmware Update

6. If an update is available, tap on Update Now. You can also toggle on/off Auto-update here

2 Search for your soundbar's model number. If your soundbar doesn't show up, please ensure you are on the correct country or regional website

Note: Make sure to search your soundbar model on the site of the country it was purchased from. You are on the Samsung Australia website right now where we only provide firmware dowloads for products sold in Australia. You can get back to your country or regions homepage by clicking the Australia/English button at the very bottom left of this page and selecting from the global options.

3 If an update is available, download the Upgrade File (USB type)
If available, download the upgrade file
4 Unzip the download file and move it to a USB flash drive. Do not place it inside any other folders

5 Connect the USB containing the firmware update into the USB port of your soundbar (usually located in the back) while it’s powered off

Note: The location of the USB port may differ depending on the model of your soundbar.

6 Turn on the Soundbar. It will update within 3 minutes displaying the message, “UPDATE”
Note: 
  • During an update, do not turn the soundbar off or remove the USB. 
  • If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it. 
  • When the latest version is installed, no update is performed.
  • Depending on the USB type, the update may not be supported.
